Bloke in the NWQ who got got kicked out...

I was sitting right next to him, he spent most of the time doing his own gravelly voiced chants with a mate. Then he got up and started slagging off the fans around him for not singing. At that point ppl where shouting at him to sit down, then he starting slagging of the north upper for not singing which caused a few of them NU guys to come over and square up to him.

Other fans around me started yelling at the stewards to do something (throughout all of this they just watched) before it turned really ugly, and eventually they did. Sure enough a small army of black jacketed stewards marched over and spent 5 minutes asking him to leave which he eventually did.

What a waste of a £20 ticket for this guy, you turn up, slag off your own fans, nearly get punched because of this and then get kicked out before even half the game has past....

He probably enjoyed the game more than I did.

  • Sadly the world has these low life people in existence.
  • As much as it took a bit a while for the stewards to step in, once they did he was gone pretty quickly....
  • He probably had a point. Very quiet from Charlton fans inside the ground today.
  • Sadly the world has these low life people in existence.

Low life??? No just someone trying to support his team who'd prob had a bit too much to drink. Then when being retaliated by the NU some guys sat near him decided to try shut him up, if they'd just ignored him he would of sat down or went back to the bar. He had a fair point thou, crowd, although a good turn out, were awful today. Myself included in that. The first goal took stuffing out of an already quiet valley.

Was the only 'entertainment' on offer at the valley today sadly, a drunk old boy being escorted out by almost 20 stewards and 3 police officers, ridiculous
  • Most worringly though. If a brawl had erupted and people were getting hurt, it took the so called 'security' ten minutes to get to the scene......totally useless.
  • He obviously had a few too many sherberts. how ever if steward no 53 had stepped in when everyone asked him to it would have been sorted earlier and not turned nasty and could have been sorted quietly

I think the whole incident sums up what is wrong with charlton at the moment. We are all pissed off with whats happening to our club.

The guy concerned ( he was at least 70 years old) was trying to get some support going for the team. people around him were singing "sit down shut up" ( were they west stand rejects) unfortunately he got abusive

We all feel we are going to hell in a hand cart.
The quicker TJ and Ms go the better.

They have even got us fighting amoungt ourselves

    we want our Charlton BacK

  • a top man and a top fan trying to get our fans to sing and slagged off for it--- next time it happens have the gonads to tell him to his face why trying to get fans at the valley to support their team is wrong --------------------------or better still dont bother and slag him off in the cyber world !

  • Seemed an OTT reaction from some of the Charlton fans to one bloke trying to get people singing and was an OTT reaction from the stewards to chuck him out. Thought he'd get moved that's all, unless he had previous

To be fair mate, he stood up, started yelling at people around him and he was ignored for a bit, then when he wouldn't shut up people started telling him to sit down and shut up. At that point he started goading those people to come up and start a fight with him which was on the cards after he started goading the NU too. My girlfriend was sitting next to the guy and was pretty worried about being in the middle of it all if something kicked off, as were people with their families around him no doubt.....so yeah....what a terrace legend!

There is a difference between trying to gee up fellow fans and get some songs going, and basically insulting/calling out a whole bunch of fellow paying supporters just because you personally think these people you do not know should do more. Frankly if he had taken a wallop or two he couldn't say he didn't have it coming, though I am glad it did not come to that.
  • Things happen heat of the moment they regret or would normally handle differently, particularly when things aren't going well.

Let's be careful what we post please and not make things potentially worse for people.

It was funny until he started using colourful language, and goading everyone in sight.

  • On a lighter note, did anyone see the guy in the front row of the east (near the halfway line), the ball got cleared into the stand and he decided to chest it, rather than the traditional catch. He obviously didn't realise the power behind it and it knocked him backwards, falling over the seats behind him. I was sat just a few rows behind him and couldn't stop laughing for a minute or two...............
