What makes a bad manager?

  • What makes a bad manager is not knowing what the fek you're doing and not having the players support. Here's looking at you Dowie and Reed.
  • Someone who shags the wives of other club employees? (Although Tommy Docherty did win the FA Cup just before they sacked him for it, so maybe it doesn't always effect their performance)
  • Good question. In general terms, one who makes mistakes (we all do) but doesn't learn from them and repeats the same mistake multiple times. Being stubborn seems to be a common trait amongst football managers and I imagine that comes from them having faith in their own ability over and above all the differing opinions they are likely to receive from multiple sources. Those managers who take that stubborn attitude too far and refuse to listen to any other view, even when they appear to be failing, are bad managers IMO.
