Well it's come to the point where they either sell up or watch the club sink back to where they brought it. We need fresh ideas, a new pitch and not forgetting some new players
If we don't take one of the so called offers, the bidders might take a look at the league table and say f##k it!!
This is possible, but we can't make him take one. I'm guessing the offers are probably a lot less than they would be if we were higher in the league! Maybe a couple more defeats might force him to take one!
We really were spoilt rotten for 2 decades with Alwen, Murray and co.
Think we'll get sold on before too long, fear that the new owners' motives won't be any less dubious than the current lot though.
Hope Powell rides this out - genuinely believe he's a very talented manager, regardless of his Charlton legend status. Compare the cost of the current side with the one that dropped like a stone into the Championship a few years back despite being able to bring in new loan signings left, right and centre - off the top of my head Sinclair, Soares, Cook, Ward, Murty, Halford, Cranie, Waghorn, Butterfield, probably a few more as well. Powell's been allowed to replace Fuller and Haynes with Church and Sordell while everyone else's contract runs down, wouldn't be his fault if we were bottom of the table.

he cant take what no one knows has been offered or not , if the amount offered has allegedly been reduced, then how does anyone know if he is mulling it over or if he has said feck it
we don't know
what we do know is that we have no fecking money so spending what we aint got is just as shit as not spending
It is possible that TJ is so heavily geared that he might as well let the club go into Administration if he can't sell it for enough to redeem the loans he has.
If that is the case then chances are he will hold on until someone pays him what he wants.

Possible but a lot of any money from a sale would go to Kevin Cash anyway.
And if he is heavily geared then Admin has no benefit to him as he'll get a fraction of what he could get from a sale now.
And certainly the Bank and maybe the old directors would be ahead of TJ and Cash in the queue.
If reports are true then the price has already dropped from 43m to 18m which indicates Cash and TJ are keen to sell ASAP. Buyers as rich as Harris will know that and be willing to play hard ball.
My fear is the TJ thinks he's a top salesman and can get top dollar but we end up, as with Stephens to Villa, with nothing.
He apparently dared Villa to blink first, and lost. Dared Wise to blink, and lost. Took employee disputes to the wire, but settled. Which way will it go with a takeover? A settlement or............
Never fails to amaze me that people insist that they want someone to "invest" in CAFC then when someone tries to recoup on that investment in the only way possible with a loss-making football club (getting someone else to pay more for it than you did) they talk like this is an act of betrayal.
In future, instead of saying "invest", it would be more honest to say "throw away their money". At least then we would see what the likes of TJ are actually doing.
I simply don't understand why we expect so much. Unless you are fortunate enough to support a club who is bought by a mega rich sports fanatic who is highly competitive and ambitious, the truth of the matter is you are fighting an uphill battle (constantly) season upon season, particularly if you are outside the top flight.
I sensed from the outset, as most did, that whilst our current owners' investment was appreciated, as it arrested an alarming slide in the club's fortunes, it was a speculative one and one which would end (I was hoping) once we reached the Premiership.
Based on what I have read, the dynamic and strategy changed post our promotion from Div 1. I suspect they have wanted out ever since whilst they have tried to sell to sufficiently recover sunk costs.
Selling a loss making football club is no easy feat and I wish Tony et al the very best in securing a buyer very soon. We sure bloody need one to ensure we do not start a new descent soon, but we need to be realistic in our expectations.... Man Utd we are not (and neither would I want us to be)
"realistic expectations" Having followed this club for over 45 years i dont have high expectations----generally they are:
We win a few at home We score a few goals I enjoy the football a few times a season We wont have a cup run We will have a budget for transfers that is high the some unknown Northern Pit Prop team We will sell our good player if a GOOD offer comes in
Oh, come on. Tony has ehthics. He's turned down a lucrative offer from the yanks as he's concerned about the future of the club over any personal gain.

Agreed 100%
I would add
A decent striker every ten years An unexpected away win against a top side twice a season An unexpected home defeat against a shit Northern bottom 3 side (three times a season) A shit ref 90‰ home games
I said to the people on my table I was very surprised neither him or Slater bothered to turn up on Sunday, They are supposed to be in charge of the club and cant be bothered to turn up for something remembering one of the key parts of our clubs history, To me that proves neither of them care about us.

Maybe they didn't want face a barrage of questions.

What we can hope for is that they have deeper pockets than the current owners now possess.

Yeah great just what we want(not).
You don't want owners with lot's of money.
I assume you don't want owners who are skint.
What, exactly, do you want from a club owner?
