Wasn't at the game last night but pleased to hear we gave it a good go and put in a decent performance on the whole.

I still think we will survive this division IF we keep Chris Powell.

However, a loss to Yeovil on Saturday will see us in the relegation zone and I do think he will lose his job if that happens. Really does pain me to say that.

Do you ever think we're in 21st place BECAUSE of CP - why will keeping him equal survival? I'm not anti CP, just asking a question. I was there last night and we didn't give it a go until the last 20 and it wasn't a decent performance. Fans sang all night - shame the team didn't get out of the blocks.
It's possible, I suppose. But when the guy has been given hardly any money to play with since promotion, I'm not surprised we've stagnated to the extent we have.

You don't win any league with over 100 points if you've got a bad manager.
  • those who suggest for a change in management I always wonder who they might think Charlton could attract to do a better job?

  • Always my philosophy on life - if things just aren't working whatever is tried then it's time for a different approach. Now's the time I think to shake it up. Giving Sordell a run in the team may be the answer as Church as the main striker just isn't working. If we get our problems sorted out up front we'll be ok as we seem tightish at the back and ok in the middle. Bringing on Green seemed to work but which Green will we see in the next game if he starts? That's the problem with Green.

Oh for an Obika or Fuller, and Fuller was there for the taking apart from the short-sightedness of the Board. Shame.
  • Sounds like we've got to play without fear from the first minute at Yeovil and go for it.

i always wonder if they were bored with Curbs and his football and wanted to see us push on to the next level
  • ''Church has an excellent first touch. It's one of his real qualities. Saying otherwise shows a hilarious lack of understanding'',

Yeah, shame about the rest of his game, for a 6 footer, not very good in the air and can't shoot, give someone else a game ffs!
  • The time has come to give sordell a run of games. I see no other option.
If he is shit for one game, show him some faith and you never know he might start believing in himself.

Church aimlessly running around and missing chances will not get us out of this. Be bold and go with marvin.
  • Agree, we need goals badly and there is a good goalscorer somewhere inside Sordell. He hasn`t had enough game time and that is what will get him up to speed. Some of the chances that Church has missed recently would surely be snapped up by Sordell. We have nothing to lose by giving him a run in the side.
  • I too think it's time for Marvin to start up front with Yann.

A successful pairing of this nature would bring back the spark missing from the Beast's game on Tuesday evening and a smile to his face.

The lad looks very strong & hungry IMHO and we badly need a shake up going forwards.

Just reward for all those hardy souls making their way west on Saturday morning would be to bring home all 3 points....and to see the gaffer's beaming smile at the final whistle.

    Onwards & upwards !

  • On Tuesday Sordell looked like the striker he obviously was at Watford. The difference between him and Church is defenders are taken out of their comfort zone by Sordell and can't defend against him but Church merely has them covering a bit more ground.

'Spongefoot' - very good. Sordell & Green in this week. What do we have
Am I the only person who can't stand this song ,no matter how well it's sung?

  • The only penalty we have been awarded was Watford and that was so blatant the ref couldn't not give it - even if, as we all know would have ben the case, he didn't want to. The ref's rulebook is clearly to give Charlton no pens and their opponents soft ones. The evidence to support this is overwhelming - it really is. But refs don't need to explain themselves, especially not to unimportant clubs like us!

I did think, however, that you would be the only one on here to admit to not liking it though.
