Finished off my Vocations yesterday... Double sherbet sour. Spent most of the evening with a face like a senior member of the WI who accidentally put on a porno.
Bought a couple of these last week in Windermere. I love plum porter, and the St Peters version is a wonderful thing indeed. I had very high hopes for this, but it tasted to me like a decent beer with prune juice added. Very pleasant, but not the stunner I expected.
Another Pinter success, this time four saisons. Properly lovely in the warmer weather.
I'm seriously thinking about getting one of these. I have grain brewed for years, but it's messy and requires LOADS of kit and even then you're not guaranteed a good pint.
What is the American IPA like? Do you need loads of fridge space? Mine is at a premium.
I'm a big fan of saison beers and while they are not particular expensive, they are also not common in supermarkets.
I've done three so far, the others being the IPA, which I thought was ok but not spectacular, and the Dark Matter stout which was fabulous. Got APA to do next and then probably the wheat beer or the space hopper after that, taking @Phantom_Users advice

At present, my favourites in order would be: Space Hopper Weiss Nites Uplands social West Nuevo Lager (not really a larger IMO) Four Saisons Public House IPA Stars and Stripes APA fresh republic lager
got 5 more to brew and try, so that could change in the next few weeks.
I haven’t tried the Dark Matter stout, as I’m not a big stout fan, but only heard good things about it

@PopIcon you do need a spare half a shelf or so in the fridge, I’m afraid, but we’ll worth it IMO. I invested in a 2nd beer fridge and a 2nd Pinter, but timing is still crucial to make sure the space is there for conditioning.
I'm starting to fall put of love in a big way with brewdog. They have dicked about with 2 things that didn't need any fuckery. Elvis Juice and Hazy Jane. Both been nerfed, cut, ruined by namby, pygmy interferism and now both taste unrecognisable and in the case of elvis juice, undrinkable. Its now disgusting, pissy, overly fizzy and lost the richness along with the reduction in ABV
And they keep dropping shit beers in their monthly beer box. Its meant to be about trying new beers not dumping their cruddy lost lager on subscribers
A very passable pale ale, First Drop from Upper Pass in Vermont. Only significant because it’s the first time I’ve been into a bar just for a drink in 15 months. I’ve missed this.
All of them went down very well. Of these the stand out was the Siren collaboration with Thornbridge brewery. I've never had a white stout (never knew they existed) but this was exceptional with loads of flavours coming through and very smooth.

It really winds me up though when breweries piss about with their offerings, especially when they reduce the strength to meet the needs of some market segmentation exercise. The whole point of having a brand is to give the customer a sense of assurance that they are getting a consistent product. If you take that consistency away, you might as well bung every brew in a big barrel marked 'something we knocked up this morning'.

I agree with both. I'm not a brewdog loyalist more of an elvis juice devotee and to have it totally changed so it tastes like some generic soapy fizzy piss has really got up my nose. If they wanted to make a diet or light version they could have done that but the hoppyness and rich texture has now gone and the grapefruit flavour which before was a really interesting sub flavour is now so overpowering its more like an alcopop.
They have done the same to Hazy Jane too which was also a bigger ABV hitter and it is truly sub-standard now.
There are tons of fizzy pissy beers available and at the prices brewdog charge I will stick with Leffe Blonde.

Lovely, but now £5.10 a pint for brakspears gravity, just 3.4%. It was £4.40 last time I was in there.
