Jesus that took a while to write up, I fucking hope you appreciate it haha
Blimey that just looks long: First quarter: Ronnie 2nd:Trump - Ronnie will get you next time! 3rd:Selby 4th: Robertson/ Allen looks fairly straight forward for the main faves, but as you know its very unlikely the top 4 seeds in each section will go through.
I'm about a day behind to others as I'm watching the highlights on in the evening.
You could tell even the players were bored in that match between Ning and Ford. Ning kept turning to watch what Mark Allen was doing on the other table, and Allen was doing fine... last two frames were great to watch. always love it when you see a player so focused and in rhythm that they whizz round the table to pot their next shot.
Gotta say I disageee, its not just Ning and Ford so dont think they did it because they were bored, there are a number of players who always look at the next table.
Mark Williams is a big one, he spends more time looking at the other table than his own, add to that Allen does it as well as a few others.
On a 2 table set up its a distraction, Williams has said before, if he misses why would he want to watch the player he is against potting balls that should be his, he would rather look at the other game and try to forget his mistake
yeah I know players do the same and even I've done it in the past, I was just making a slight joke about Ning being bored (which he may well have been) and it was seeing his face in the background looking across longingly that caught my attention to it.
O'Donnell may stand a chance today if he pots balls(he has missed a few golde chances ready)
Ronnie doesnt seem to be there, seems to be distracted by things in the crowd that are not distracting the other 3 players he has already spoke to the ref, he seems to be getting frustated at bad shots and in general looks like he wants to be elsewhere.
If he was playing a Trump or Selby today, I would fully expect them to win, unfortunatly Martin isnt taking his chances
We also now know the 16 players who will be at Ally Pally in January
Mark Allen Mark Williams Mark Selby Ronnie O’Sullivan John Higgins Judd Trump Barry Hawkins Ding Junhui Neil Robertson Kyren Wilson Shaun Murphy Stuart Bingham Ryan Day Stephen Maguire Luca Brecel Jack Lisowski (debut)
Ronnie has been in 3rd gear through the rounds. whether or not he will have to up it is down to Allen. I reckon Allen can do it. should be a good final.
Mark Williams v Neil Robertson Ronnie O'Sullivan v Stuart Bingham Mark Selby v Stephen Maguire Barry Hawkins v Shaun Murphy John Higgins v Ryan Day Ding Junhui v Jack Lisowski Mark Allen v Luca Brecel Judd Trump v Kyren Wilson
O'Sullivan played very well today. He has slowed down a lot, but his long potting especially in the first session was clinical and his safety was very good too.
