Frontline9 agree with you I get the impression that he likes the glory ride bringing a horse from the back and winning, far to often he drops off the back of the pack giving the leaders 10 or more lengths then losing by a couple instead of being in the thick of it and winning by a couple wasting my money

I don't think the fact he rides Mon-Fri should count against him?

If anything it shows his dedication to the trainers, owners and the sport.

    The man is a machine.

Just equaled Martin Pipes record on ON THE RECORD with a classic AP ride. 4191 winners. Roll on 5000.

Have only just seen this thread and would have to disagree with smithyboy and frontlines comments as regards McCoy sits out the back on most his rides. The McCoy Pipe era was known for leading from the start.

Can't play by the rules. Has been banned more than once for excessive use of the whip. What a hero.

When my son was a student they bussed a load of them in to Sandown to do the dogs body work.
At the end of the meeting AP gave my son twenty pounds.
I said did you get it signed with a view to keeping it. No, I spent it on beer.
  • Why do the BBC have to announce things like this now?
It's like knowing what it's in your presents 3 day before Christmas morning.
  • Could he become our new manager? He seems to be good at getting over hurdles.

met him in Dublin airport once, i asked him any tips for the grand national, his reply was i would say a horse with four legs will win it, great servant to that sport only downside is hes a bloody gooner.

You can't hate everyone though. For one thing there wouldn't be enough room for your forum name.

As far as I am concerned a very well deserved knighthood, for the years of sacrifice and incredible risk he put himself through to become the greatest jump jockey ever. Someone on sky news website has said in response to the furore surrounding barbera windsors' equivalent award, that if a bloke who 'rides a horse' gets one, she deserves it too!
