Absolutely, he has to share some of the blame for the relegation. And get some credit for getting us to the playoffs. It's not often a manager gets sacked in 5th place but it was the right decision. We might have made it to the playoffs again, but the spirit of the side and some of his signings suggested he wasn't right for us.
I'm glad he's done well at Bradford. As many have said, he is one of the good guys. I met him too and thought he was a gent, despite my being wasted.
Buying Abbott, letting Randolph go, sending Jenkinson to Eastleigh and leaving Shelvey out all cost us one way or another. Bad decisions.

For every argument there is a counter argument - there are not many caretaker mangaers given the permanement job despite not winning a game.

So true, which is why the Parkinson debate goes round and round. I doubt that there is a single Parkinson apologist (as we were labelled) who would deny that he was fortunate that circumstances enabled him to get the job full time, but we would also say after that he did a good job in difficult circumstances.
Jenkinson went on loan to Eastbourne Borough. Parky gave him his debut soon after.
Parky signed Francis who is now a Championship player after a good season for Bournemouth. Jenkinson was 18 and third choice behind Solly. He went out on loan and got some experience - is that really a mistake by the manager?
He's criticized for being cautious with both tactics and giving youngsters a chance, but the same things could be said about Powell. If Powell had a bigger budget Pigott certainly wouldn't be 4th choice and Cousins probably wouldn't have made as many appearances.
If we could have afforded someone better when Phil got the job after 8 games, 0 wins, maybe we wouldn't now have Chris Powell at the helm. But I don't get all the man-love for him on here. The squad he left behind was never going to get us out of that league.

I think many of us appreciate that he was well and truly dunked in the brown stuff by a combination of Pardew and Dowie, mainly Pardew, and did an honest job in very difficult circumstances.
As others have said his record at both Colchester and Bradford city show that he is a decent manager in a reasonable situation.
The championship season when we went down was really bad, but there were some games under parky where we performed with honesty and passion but just got outclassed and undone in defence.
The Derby at home game was a huge blow after playing well and 2-1 up. Demoralised the squad after that outcome.
