The fact you just pointed out he was injured after 20 mins gives the reason away as to why he probably did not sprint off. His pace was the same during the game.
Dont rate him. Doesnt seem to have any awareness of where to run or have an idea of what he is going to do next before he receives the ball. Seems to have the ability to beat a man but his game appears rather individualistic and cant see him doing much in this system.

Posted this on post match comments thread, probably better on this thread.
I hope that Sordell continues to improve, needs to prove himself to doubters, who have legitimate point of view after slow start.

Sordell, although still poor looked more a part of the team. He did drop back and cover runners. He does seem to get a bit isolated from the rest of the team up front, when that happens he is away from the main play and receives a lot of passes which he has little chance of controlling. Same with Church or Piggott, high passes in the general direction at head height are pointless.
The general service to the front 2 is poor. (You could argue that there is not enough intelligent movement or running from the front two for the midfielders to go on. There is something in that).
Maybe Sordell, would be better at the point of the diamond or playing in the hole before the front two ? (If he is prepared to run about sufficiently). He would receive more to feet and is more difficult to knock off the ball than Callum Harriott. (Although Harriott did cover a lot of ground, which I don't think he got enough credit for so far).
He may also feel more part of the team and play and stop him getting isolated up front. I did see some promising work from Sordell in the midfield. He can also pick a pass to willing runners. Sordell can also turn and shoot well from just outside the penalty area, when there is space, the point of the diamond, may allow him to find that better, rather than a defender directly on his shoulder, when he is part of front 2.
Sordell may come good yet. I am still prepared for him to be able to prove himself in the team.
He has next to nothing service. Not sure what people want from him. We are totally lacking creativity. I think he got service then i think he would score goals.
his slow walk annoyed me but he does look interested but most just see what they want.
I'm not seeing what I want to see at all. I have been very keen that he gets a fair crack but as a striker he looks completely impotent. Admittedly the service is not great but he seems in my view to lack either the desire or ability to create even a sniff for himself. Hope he gets into the groove I really do but at the moment he's not performing at all well.
I think CP instructed all the outfield players to have a go in front of goal and almost everyone did, however this lead to Sordell and Church getting less service than our strikers usually get and that is not a lot. A lot of Stephens corners and crosses were over hit and that did not help. I thought Sordell put in a lot of effort in front of the covered end but could not tell in the first half as he is to far for these old eyes. Team lacked a bit of quality on Saturday but no lack of effort imo.
Sordell, He was good at Watford I'll give him that. But he has lost his way. He does not have anything "threatening" about him. Another Mcleod...Waste of time and wages. Get rid
We've created him one chance in the past two home games which he put away. He'll score more than Church. Him and Kerms up top will create and score goals imo.

I know he only came in on the Thursday before the season started but he looks like a stranger to the rest of the squad. - if he trains like he plays, he won't fit in. A sad waste of precious resources for me.

I guess Andy , Sordell was supposed to be our 'Marquee signing' unfortunately at the moment it looks like he came without tent pegs , he needs game time and will get better... i hope!
He put a video on Instagram of an absolutely sublime pass he played with the outside of his foot, I think it was for Watford but I can't remember, and put as the caption - "used to be good". Says it all really.

You and me both, mate - I'm gonna take a lot of convincing!
There's a reason why he scored so many goals at Watford and has been capped by the England Under 21's, let's give him a decent run in the team 4 or 5 starts isn't enough to judge a player on, let's see how he does after 10.
Maybe the reason is Watford had a better creative team? The 2 goals he has got have been first time shots in the area. How many other opportunities like that have there been, not many I believe.
It would be interesting to know what striker type he was paired with at Watford.

Pace? Not as pacey as I was expecting
Headers? No.
Goals? Not so much.
Teamwork? Doesn't get on the ball enough.

Get Yann back. QUICK!
