Bailey didn't celebrate any of Boro's goals last season against us. Just walked back which showed us some respect. He will get booed by some, I have no bad feelings towards him just hope he has a poor game Saturday
  • One tackle on him and he will roll around as if he's lost leg. I can see him getting one of ours sent off
  • He will play up to his new supporters.
Loved him for his effort, but hated him for his play acting.
Can see him and Morison causing us trouble.
  • Humour is usually the best way with gingers - surely his old song can be reworked accordingly.
  • Couldn't give a shit about Bailey but i've no doubt he'll get booed.

More concerned about Morison, he absolutely murdered us in the 09/10 season.

Morison's injured. He's out for months I think.

Played half an hour last night
    and scored a cracker.
  • Will warmly applaud as always. Bailey tried, unlike some who have played for us since he left.
  • Won't be letting him near my missus!
  • No time for the bloke. Not just saying it, but I wasn't a fan when he was playing for us, yes he scored a few goals and was probably our best player during his time with us, but that's not saying a lot given the dross we churned out.....(shelvey excluded). Given he's millwall now it's even more of an excuse for me to dislike him.

    spot on!!!

I really don't remember this many people piping up and saying they "wasn't a fan" of his when he was playing for us. He genuinely was a fan favorite, or at least it seemed.

Same with Semedo. Everybody singing their hearts out for him whilst he was here, and voting him player of the season. As soon as he left, there was a lot more negative appraisal of him.

Oasis in a desert at the time.

I'll applaud him, as I did when he came back with Middlesbrough, but I'd choose Jackson or Pritchard over him every time.

Cue a blinder from him on Saturday now!

Do have fond memories of his goal v the scum in the 4-4. NU concourse was packed when it went in

I was on the concourse too managed to see it on one of the screens though. Think I lost most of my beer during the celebrations.

Not that it matters, but I can honestly say that I really wasn't a fan.
  • Millwall is a game that we need Yann Kermorgant for. Without a shadow of a doubt.

If anyone can mix it with Shittu it's him - that's a proper clash of the titans.

If Yann get's a spare minute I am sure he'll have a pop at Bailey too - just to rile him
  • Bailey was our best player of that era, far better than the very limited Semedo. For all his faults, if we had more players like Bailey in our team, we wouldn't have gone down.
  • Shittu never played yesterday so maybe dropped . Would love bailey in our team to be honest

a player that split opinion between our fans in league one walking back into our team now?
    nah you're alright thanks.
  • I want ginger hair too.

  • Just no booing him please. He will undoubtedly score if we do.

I'm pretty sure that's not how the world works.

Ordinarily I would give him a clap but it's a bit different now he's playing for Millwall. He did his best for us, and the Swindon penalty doesn't cancel out all his decent performances during the 2 seasons he was with us. I was never his biggest fan due to reasons others have mentioned but we wouldn't have finished 4th without his goals that season.

    I won't boo him though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Andy Hughes on the bench on Saturday for similar reasons. Just praying Kermo is fit and the rest of the lads are up for the battle.
  • Its all well and good requesting the players turn up for the battle, but the fans need to as well.

If our support doesn't convey that derby atmosphere, then don't expect the players to adjust their mentality.
  • I thought Bailey was respectful last season and i used to enjoy his efforts in a red shirt. Think he will be the villain on Saturday but is really best being ignored.
  • Stayed to the end of the Boro game last year to clap him off. He was one of the few decent things during a wretched couple of years.

However this is different, won't boo him but you can seem him playing up the part, just like he did for us down at Southend.

I guess what goes round , comes round , does that law still apply to Bailey's penalty miss?

Affectionately known to Charlton fans as 'Bailey's comet'
  • There was an incident at the Spanners v Derby game last week:

A Derby player was given "dogs abuse" as he was on loan to the Spanners from the Spuds last season.

The report claimed it was so bad, that Clough subbed him in order to quell the mood.

THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO TAKE THE MORAL HIGH GROUND.

Let's welcome our former skipper with a big cheer and show the watching world the difference between the two sets of supporters. Let's make it plain why "no one likes them" - because, in general, their attitude stinks.

Bailey may have been a bit of a diver, quick to leave us, and now a Spanner - but in the time he was with US, his dedication was never in doubt and he was not one of the "clean shorts" players that we had around that time.
  • He got abused because he was ON LOAN at West Ham LAST SEASON? Jesus christ, they really are a fucking odd lot.
  • He was on loan with Millwall
