Charlton Life - What does your other half think of it?

Having Just read the last couple of comments on the Rachel Riley thread by NLA & Macronate it made me wonder what your other halves think about the CL site?

A: Never heard of it.

B: Tolerate it.

C: Hate the fact you're on here loads.

D: Wish they were a Charlton fan so they could contribute.

It's B for me. When she's watching yet another reality show on tv (generally about brides or gypsies) and I wander out of the room I get..

"Where you off to, checking Charlton Life again?"

Me: "I'll only be 5 minutes love" - knowing full well that's never the case.

  • between B and C
  • I'm sure 'checking CharltonLife again' is being used as a guard for other Riley related business.
  • B for me. She doesn't have much patience with "pretend" stuff though and thinks it's a bit sad.
    She might be right!

In that case 5 minutes is way too long! Back in 2.

  • somewhere between B & C - she see's me on it on the ipad all the time when she's watching something on the TV, my argument back is that I don't do facebook (not even on it) and she spends half her waking life on it, checking her phone every 2 mins of the day.

I don't let her see my username in case she ever decides to check and see what I say on certain theads!
  • My good lady has met several lifers via this forum and has never said a bad word about it or them. What with the CL RTTB, the match at The Valley, the Upbeats not forgetting the charity record and with the exception of Plaaayer they are all a generation or two younger than us but have always made us feel welcome. I think there's more to this forum than chucking the odd post up, get involved.

I need to utilise the iPad more. Great shout.

  • Ask her divorce lawyer...
  • Genuinely quite surprised at the A's! Well hidden.
  • A - it is just another football site.
  • If she asks what I am doing on the lap top I tell her I am watching porn, less hassle
  • It's between A and B.

I talk about things on here from time to time but she has no interest in it. She may browse it on the iPad when I am not around but doubt it. I think she zones out when I mention Charlton really

  • B - says it's Facebook under a different name, but still reads it avidly I must add.
  • C. Mainly because she's a Palace fan.
  • B, funny you mention it after the Riley thread Murph, mentioned it to the missus on Saturday, and she couldn't see why CL are mad for her, I just kept quiet.
  • C says to me all the time are you on that sad anorak website AGAIN!!
  • There's no option for 'she rants on here more than I do'.
  • C

She regards it as a complete waste of life and doesn't understand why I spend so much time on it although, to the best of my knowledge, she's never been on the site.
  • He says it keeps me quiet and gives his ears a rest as I'm not talking to him! Doesn't like people on here laughing that he'll be outside the Lib with a can of lemonade and a packet of crisps when I'm inside drinking! Shame!
  • C - My latest hates football
  • B - but she finds some of the comments and little video clips very amusing, particularly on non football related stuff.
