Goalkeeper,s.Why do we keep signing back up keepers and let them go,do they get fed up with not playing,or does our scouting team misjudge their capability,s.? IMO John Sullivan was good enough for back up,did not see David Button play,so cannot comment, but does seem strange that we don't keep them.

I suspect that the signing of Button was a complete screw up. Probably an expensive one too.

I believe the agreed fee for Button from Spurs was around £350,000, with payment deferred for a year. He was sold to Brentford (about £150,000) to generate cash to pay Spurs. He conceded three goals against AFC Wombles on Tuesday night.

I will balance this with the positive testimonials I have had from Orient and Sunderland fans.He also played better for Spurs in a Cup game at Old Trafford http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/7842634.stm
Let's wait and see whether he is an upgrade on Button.
Does anyone know why Pope was on the bench today. Was Alnwick injured?
