CAMERON STEWART ON LOAN UNTIL JANUARY

  • I read that as not fit, bit of a Frimpong maybe

They have also, while he was recovering, been promoted so maybe part not yet fully fit, part not good enough for the Premiership.

When did he last play a league or cup game?
  • Played the first 55 minutes of Hull's AET victory at Orient on Tuesday evening.

Last league start was for Blackburn on 6 April 2013 (also subbed after 56 minutes).

Last league 90 minutes was for Blackburn on 17 March 2013.
  • He played for 55mins in the league cup game against Leyton Orient.
  • Cheers.

Sounds like fit enough to play but not enough to last a whole game.
  • He's not even kicked a ball for us yet! Let's just wait and see how he does, I'm just pleased we've got someone in to add a bit of flair to the team.
  • Just my opinion but I think the key to his success or not will be how he settles with us and bonds with the squad and SCP. If he enjoys the experience the training and fitness will follow and so will the form. From the little I know I think we might just be able to provide a platform for him. Here's hoping.
  • Cheers.

That will come with time though, hopefully before January! Don't think he was signed to throw straight into the first 11 thouhg, but gives us a chance to change style/formation if we need it. He's not here to score goals, he's here to set them up, a few decent crosses and Yann/Church will bang them in, Pigott too if he gets the game time.
  • Aged 22, left winger. 68 apps (2 goals) in three years at Hull, inc. loans at Yeovil, Burnley and Blackburn. Height: 5-ft 8-ins.

Too small, doesn't score enough. Can i be the first to say BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
look at all those spanish players who are tiny, I know a couple of people who have been released from academies because "they are too small" and i think its a misconception that has been partly responsible for holding English football back for the last decade or so. Also goals arnt everything if CP thinks hes good enough hes good enough.
  • Surprised we beat Blackpool for the signing, anyone know anything about the deal?

Either we made a better loan bid which judging by the ammount of dosh we have, I find hard to believe

Or, he chose Charlton and Powell over Blackpool and Ince, which is something I think is more likely

Powell has a rep as a decent guy, being a good chap pays of in the long term
  • Text my HCFC (not Tigers) season ticket holder mate about him. For what it's worth, here's his opinion:

    KKB: Cameron Stewart. Any good?
HCFCSTHM: At the moment, poor. Still recovering from cruciate injury.
KKB: What about before that? Any flashes of brilliance, decent player in there somewhere?
HCFCSTHM: Yes, he was great until then. Pacey and tricky with good feet and a decent cross. Help him get better, Addicks.
KKB: So he had an end-product then? Not a Blind-Alley Bertie?
HCFCSTHM: Yep, once we signed him even Jay Simpson popped in a few goals.

So it seems to me his fitness is the key, but assuming that all checks out and Hull simply can't accommodate him right now as they've stepped up a level, it looks like we could have a very good player with a decent pedigree on our hands - especially as our strikers don't mind a cross or two coming in. I for one am looking forward to seeing him.

Spoke to a Hull fan this morning, said the same thing.

Is "Blind Alley Bertie" any worse than "Jonny Step-Over"?
  • Anything is better than Wilson
  • Anything is better than Wilson

The same Wilson who was a major part in our best team in 5-6 years??

Leave Jerome Thomas out of this!
  • Welcome Cameron and good luck. This is an odd signing though .. a non scoring attacker .. as has been asked, where does this leave Harriott and our other promising young players ? .. perhaps, given his cruciate problems we are being paid to get him fit again .. but I doubt it .. anyway, we will see, that is if he ever gets off the bench, or on it come to that.
Green has gone on loan and it looks as though Cook will now hang around the place just waiting for his contract to expire

  • in CP we trust I suppose. Just as we did with Danny Green.

Green did OK in the League 1 championship season and was part of a very successful side for which he should be remembered positively.

But he's never done it at Championship level (despite numerous and extended chances before you say it) so like Taylor, Hollands, Hayes, Wagstaff, BWP, etc from that team he moves on. Good luck to him.

You speak of Green as though he has gone for ever. He'll be back in five weeks.

  • He's a right winger, Harriott's a left winger, all our u21 midfielders are central midfielders. Admittedly there's not really room for 2 wingers on the bench, but we hardly have a big squad to cover more than a few injuries and suspensions.

Wouldn't be surprised if Cook goes out on loan at some point.

As Henry posted earlier he's fit enough for 55 mins but probably not fit for 90 so I would think after a week or two we can expect him to get to the bench. Neither Wilson or Green have ever offered enough on the right side of midfield which has seen Pritchard playing wide right when IMHO we need his energy in central midfield. This signing might just give the right side the edge it has been crying out for.

  • Good signing from a Premier league club of a Championship standard player .Danny Green is not that so an improvement on where we were on Monday .Says a lot also about in particular Wilson and Pritchard .Suspect that whatever the formation once Solly is back from injury we will see a lot less of Wilson although he played well on Saturday .Also much more of Pritchard through the middle rather than playing out wide right .With Pritchard /Cousins playing through the middle we have the legs and strength to allow Jackson /Gower to play and hopefully for Stephens to play much more effectively and much further up the pitch in a five .
  • Green has gone on loan for match fitness , he will be back before you know it . Still under contract until end of season so don't get too excited. Cameron can take his seat on the bench.

That makes a lot of sense, and I like the sound of it.

  • Some feedback from the Hull FM researcher:
He's very fast and quite skillful. Offers very little defensively and movement isn't great, but running at defenders he causes them all kinds of trouble. If he can do that 5 or 6 times in a match, a goalscoring chance will come, which for me is what it's all about so I think he's got some value. He had a bad injury, then after a lively start when he first returned (bids up to £1.5m turned down (1), (2)), he struggled more and more as the 11/12 season went on. He really needs a good run of football but didn't get that on his loan spells last season, I can only assume his heart wasn't in it.
  • Enormous potential. Welcome cameron.

really was a bright young thing through the age grades at United. Terrifying in full flow, very strong on the ball. Hoping he gets off to a good start then watch the buzz around.the ground when he goes one one one with the left back

cant cross, but neither can zaha. Dont have to if you consistently breaking into the oppos box, 6 yard pull backs are this geezer,s trademark.

oh for a winger that likes to beat his man. Great move powelly. He really is chalk to danny green's cheese in terms of driving at the full back.

harriott and stewart either flank....yummy. pace in the place charlton, pace in the place
  • Sounds exciting. Hope he lives up to his potential with us.
