Was the second yellow for dissent? If so then good. Not a soft yellow at all. Football bought in the respect campaign but it is laughable.
All league refs should have microphones and ANY swearing should see a yellow card. Works in rugby so there is no problem.
All this tosh about it losing the passion in the game is just weak excuses. Why should footy players act the way they do and get away with it every week. They are role models whether they like it or not and need to behave more appropriately because of it.
If the FA had some balls they would get this done. First week would see a host of reds and pundits and managers would go mad, second week would see less and by second month or so it would have stopped and people would realise it was for the good of the game.
The fact Pearson did not condemn a player for getting himself sent off and helping Leicester lose 3 points because he can't keep his cool speaks volumes for his qualities as a coach and is more evidence that no matter how much they spend Leicester will be in the Champ unless they move him on.
The sending off looked harsh and the ref is notoriously card happy so I have no problem with them complaining about that. Having said that – they won’t be able to appeal it because by the letter of the law it is a second booking – but I do believe refs should be trying not to send players off if they can help it, and a stern talking to would have done the job. The fair minded should accept that the ref did not cost them the game though!
As for the fouls on their keeper- they are ridiculous statements – no ref would have given fouls for either of our goals.
I think they are a good side with good players so the fact that we were significantly better than them should have garnered more begrudging praise than we have received – but hey ho – you can sort of understand how they might not like us – given how we have beaten them 3 times on the spin and it is almost certain we’ll pick up another three points at the Walkers later in the season.
Fairly sure the yellow was for dissent and the body language suggested he was having a right old rant at the ref so deserved to go. As others have stated it's time to stamp out abusing the ref... I would give the 4th official access to instant replays to get decisions right and book diving / shirt tugging cheats but that ain't gonna happen just yet
This is sad I know. When I used to ref Sunday league I tended to get very fed up with the abuse. I took to putting a copy of the laws of the game in my socks like shin pads. When a player used to get in my face I sometimes used to whip out the laws and invite him to show me exactly where I'd got it wrong, even inviting him to peruse the laws off the pitch for a while. Yeah sad, and incorrect, but anyway. I would take a bet that 90% of all players, coaches, managers, supporters and pundits have never actually read the whole (very short) book of the Laws of Football.

I used to like it when "The Laws" and annual updates were included in the Rothman's yearbook. Sadly they haven't been for years.
For any player who has already been booked to rant at the ref in the way James did, deserves to get a bath all to himself without the distraction of his team mates. Utter muppet and if one of ours did the same that would be my view also. Never a pen. Great win but the truth is we should have won by two or three but made it hard for ourselves by not converting the numerous chances we created.
He was asking, literally asking, to get sent off. He picked up a justified, albeit a mickey mouse, yellow in the first half and went out of his way to talk himself into getting sent off absolutely idiotic and whilst I will admit we got a lot of decisions we wouldn't normally he sending off was deserved and the 'penalty' was not a valid shout
As for the penalty claim - No ref (ZERO) was going to give that. I have looked at it over and over again and nothing more than normal contact. They are sore losers stating it was a penalty as if it was fact - very sore losers indeed.
You say Deadman's card happy. Yet I believe he was the ref at Hudds a couple of seasons ago, when Waggy was nearly sythed in two & the player wasn't even booked.
Although he did send off Russell later on.
That was Mr Carl Boyeson. Just as bad as the Deadman
