Had a great day yesterday. I was firstly asked last minute to help out at Welling, so I did a bit of stewarding which involved checking people's tickets and helping them into their seats.
Got a great view from the game as well, standing right next to the Welling dugout.
Met a few relatives of various Charlton players along with having conversations with the likes of Alex Dyer, Michael Morrison and Ben Hamer.
One sour part was that I can confirm that there were Brighton scouts looking at a few of our players...
I'm not saying it's 'bad' as in it'll mortally wound the keeper. I just think that particular chat is seriously naff. And especially when Championship fans sing it to a conference keeper. Just my opinion of course. It makes us look classless and thick. Again, IMHO. I don't want to start a campaign, just giving my view.
Am I the only sad old git who has freeze-framed the video to get a look at himself in the crowd? I know exactly where I stood on the terraces, but the weird thing is - I don't appear to be there! Did I imagine the whole afternoon?

Explain, please....
Twilight Zone
Ah, yes. There are fairly clear pictures of both ends of the ground, and I was wearing a brightly coloured shirt. In the first half I was just to the right of the goal at the Park View Road end, and I'm nowhere to be seen. In the second half I was next to the wall behind the goal at the top end - and I'm not there either! This really is very, very strange...
Is the quality of non-league football usually that good? I was quite impressed by some of the game play from Welling in the second half (when they were generally given a bit more room..) - and watching the video underlines it a bit; nice passing and movement, no longball/hoof... I actually really enjoyed it. My first non-league experience.
Aside from that, just wanted to say it was a top-notch day all over. The football was good, the weather was nice, the beers were quick, the burgers were tasty.. Was also good to see some of the youngsters (which I haven't seen before really).
Piggott looked promising, regardless of the opposition, he showed some nice touches for his goal - flicks over the keeper etc.
I can't say I saw Pope do anything. I was also on the wrong side to see Morgan Fox properly - and I don't really want to go off the video above.
Also, I liked the fact Ceddy was there! Admittedly, I remember saying "Come on Ceddy!!" a few times - forgetting that he was just the other side of some boarding - only for him to duly lose possession/concede a throw-in....

12 minutes of hi-lights.
It makes me cringe.
