I got the phone call from the club yesterday asking me why I hadn't renewed. I've slight regrets but also looking forward to spending more time with the family.
I don't no whether to get one this season as I have no one to go with! i desperately want to get one , would it b sad for me as a 21 year old lad to go football on my own every Saturday? All my mates support other teams and want to go to just the odd game ! Just don't no what to do!
Get one & meet some "new" friends in a pub beforehand.
Cheers for all your advice , decided to just go for it , north upper here I come !
No!!!!!!!! What are you doing buying one up there with all the council estate lads, they will eat you alive.
At school there was one other lad who followed Charlton - who never went, I've never lived that side of the water (unless you include the south coast) and only farily recently did I come across another Addick at work to share the joy and pain with. I reckon over the years I've been to to over 90% of our games on my own and tbh I think I prefer it.
I don't go for the chat or the drinking or the 'banter', I go to watch the game first and foremost. Whilst it's always interesting to have a chat afterwards on the merits of Lisbies finishing or Deano's goalkicks or Sollys defending I've never found that it was an essential part of the experience. You can do that all night long on here if you want.
Plus, its the only place where you can shout stuff out in public when you're on your own and no one thinks you're a nutter...
Don't forget that this season there are vouchers in the ST book so you can bring a friend to two matches (or two friends to one match, maybe?) for free as long as they are not the "Gold category" games.
Go for it, lad! You are never alone when you are with 19,000 fellow supporters. There is absolutely no stigma attached to being solo: independence is a great strength. And you never know who you are going to meet. A few years ago I went on my own to a game v Wolves, sat high up in the NW quadrant: Nicky Bailey scored early on with a brilliant volley. Anyway, before kick-off everyone was watching a group of three cracking birds coming up the steps - and they came and sat next to me! One of them was American, and in the second-half Wolves got a disputed pen and she asked me to explain what was going on. Enjoy!
ive been going on my own for a while... Got hooked in the prem years and was one of the plastics who carried on going- i take a mate now and again but you get to know those around where you sit and its all good... I may need to change seats though (west stand is dead!)
Go in the liberal club before a game make yourself known to the nearest joey essex lookalike or olly murs and you will have a new group to at least nod your head to
Just got my season ticket through. Could someone just help me and tell me do I have to take the whole thing with me as in the red ticket or can I just take the booklet out the holder and take that?? Also Iv looked through it and seen the 2 free vouchers but before that there's 3 a, b and c vouchers what are they? I no I'm probly being very stupid! Also when I booked the tickets it said I need to show proof of age do I just bring that on Saturday?
I have been going on my own for 4 seasons now, sat in the same seat so now have my "Football fwends" I chat to, I quite like it as the alternative is to be nagged by er indoors and have 2 girls under the age of 7 constantly in my earhole....its a no brainer!!

I think technically you're supposed to take the whole booklet with you just in case you're asked for it (particuarly if it's anything other than an adult season ticket).
The A, B, C vouchers used to be for high priority games like playoff semi finals, cup matches etc although why they are still required in this day and age when they have all season ticket holders info on an easily accessible database I'm not sure. Unfortunately we haven't had the need to use these additional tickets for a few years !

That would be your best bet mate. The stewards at the Valley are very diligent........
What's the alternative ? Spending your Saturday afternoons watching Soccer Saturday on your sofa ? Going to Bluewater ?
Get your season ticket, sit in the North Upper where you'll be surrounded by other Addicks your age and you'll soon get chatting to the other regulars.
i can still go to bluewater afterwards, watch the build up at home of soccer saturday and watch the rest at the match, there problem solved

Good to hear you are going for it, you'll make plenty of pals in no time.
Anyway, CAFCTILLIDIE is hardly the name of someone that doesn't go to matches because their mates won't.
CAFCTILLIDIE meet LuckyReds
LuckyReds meet CAFCTILLIDIE.
My job here is done.
