Why would it be sad ? If you can afford one get one.
  • buy two and take a mate
  • Sad probly wasn't the right word , just think as a young lad to go football on my own could be abit strange .. ?
  • You'll soon get to know the people around you each week. They become like friends you don't have to bother keeping in touch with.
  • Get one. I used to have a ST on my own and found it fine. I do prefer it now i go with a few other people but if they stopped going I would still carry on.

I still do any away on my own sometimes if none of the people I go with want to go and still find it fine.
  • I was thinking about buying too but to be honest just can't afford 2 , to be honest think I might just get one as you said I would get to no people around me
  • Do it and then use twitter to make some "Football Friends".
  • I decided not to get one this season. Can't really attend many mid-week games (this accounts for about a 3rd of them), so made the decision to opt out. Will still be attending saturday games and the odd mid-week.

I sympathise with you regarding going on your own, had the same situation in the past. Didn't bother me during the match, just a bit boring travelling to and from............

  • maybe CL should have a "lonely hearts" column for people in similar situations so they can sit together!

Until we have fixture changes due to our extended cup runs..... oh.
  • Get one if you can afford it. Go to a few games first and find an area you like - unless they (or you) are a "bit strange" you'll soon get to know the people around you!
  • Do it your club needs you 21 is a great age so live your life to the max. Get in that north upper and sing your heart out every week
  • What's the alternative ? Spending your Saturday afternoons watching Soccer Saturday on your sofa ? Going to Bluewater ?

Get your season ticket, sit in the North Upper where you'll be surrounded by other Addicks your age and you'll soon get chatting to the other regulars.
  • I've been going on my own for years, both to football in life. Get a few cans down you before (and after) the game. You'll be right as rain.
  • Been to plenty of home and away games on my own before, do it.
  • Do it,that then qualifies you to come on here and moan like f**k when things don't go according to plan :)

Agree with this had a season ticket on my own for a few years and apart from the travelling to and from as i live a distance away it was great, got to know the people i sat with really well and enjoyed every game

  • Do it mate. Everyone around you is there for the same reason as you, to get behind the club. Its not like you're going out clubbing on your own. You'll make friends quick. We've been sat around the same people for about 10-15 years, you soon get to know everyone.
  • as a 21 year old, what else could you be doing on a Saturday apart from recovering from the night before?

if you don't get one then you'll have to change your username.

  • I am 23 and have spent my whole life in Sheffield my mum and dad from South east London moved up here before i was born and i have spent all of my teenage years going to all the away games i can afford to go to (sheff.w, hudders, barnsley, forest, Leicester, leeds etc) coupled with home games hear and there (v.expensive day trip) i have no friends who are charlton fans and always go by myself if my dad cant. You should be lucky you are in a position to get a season ticket, going alone has never been an issue for me its just about watching Charlton. Hopefuly one day i can be nearer to the valley and get a season ticket. Its a dream of mine (sad as it may seem)

Hi Mate, you should look to meet up with some of the Sheffield Charlton contingent @SheffieldRed @Bryan_Kynsie @ThePrince-e-Paul, they're a really good bunch.
  • I got the phone call from the club yesterday asking me why I hadn't renewed. I've slight regrets but also looking forward to spending more time with the family.

  • Good man,you know it makes sense :)
  • I'm 20 and before I came to uni I used to have a season ticket and sit by myself. But you soon get to know the people around you, and even if you don't it'll still be worth it.
  • Have been to games on my own - always find people to chat to.
