Yes a lot of questions but I finished it as I have a lot of time on my hands. I don't use Instagram so once you say no there should have been an option to skip to next section.
It's quite obvious from the questions the guys in the press office are trying to find out exactly what you want.
give up 10 mins of your time and then we might hear less bitching about two of your biggest bug bears: 1-the quality of the official site; and 2: quality of the match day commentary on player.
I say fair play to them for trying. Those of you that really hate the website and commentary get on it and say your piece. Nows your chance!

Good idea, but poorly constructed too many questions that if you do not use Twitter or facebook. I no longer use twitter, and rarely use facebook these days. Do not subscribe to player, even though Charlton Live is a good programme and used to listen every week when it was free. Sorry will not subscribe, I do not support the idea of a subscription service. Should be free to season ticket holders. Now there is a thought!

Well said, Ken. Subscription services go against the grain with me too, especially after shelling out 300 sovs for a season ticket.
If it was free to season ticket holders then I imagine the service would hardly make any revenue whatsoever. Only from those dedicated fans who are based abroad and outside of London (ie - not many)
Out of interest, in your opinion, what's wrong with a subscription service?
Nothing's wrong with it, though I'm generally averse because I purposely don't watch TV of any kind, including subscription or free-to-view. It's just that when we invest a lot of money and emotion in going to watch the games in person, it seems a bit rich to charge us for a commentary or a highlights package.
I have to say I agree with Viewfinder, its made particularly bad by the substandard nature of it. And sorry but Mr Mansfield aint coming back so we need someone else
I am happy with the pre recorded parts of player. What I have issue with is the live stuff and the highlights - as an expat player is one of my key sources of commentary and match footage. For me the production quality is amateurish, both on terms of commentators and in terms of recorded video
I do understand we are no longer in a position to have the 20 or so different camera positions needed to film the match properly
I also like the finch fellows commentary and I would actually like him and a player to do it. My beef is with the wannabe pat sharps and Fran cottons trying to commentate on cafc games. I think they come across very badly.

I think the player interviews are excellent
But they were questions in the survey so giving people the chance to make those points.
That's why I don't get the antipathy to the survey. OK, critic the number of questions or design but it seems that we want to moan, moan, moan but when we get asked how to improve things what do we do? Moan again.
Well this thread i'm sure the club will agree has served its purpose as i'm sure its helped increase the number of survey's completed by a fair bit !
95 questions seems very excessive to me though !
Most of the early questions where about things like "How much do you hate Charlton Life?", "What features can we steal from Charlton Life?" and "What can we do to get rid of that F*&%£*@ Charlton Life site?" which I thought were harsh but fair.
Did anybody say that they thought the website had too much content on Chris Powell? I think that was a slightly loaded question. Had it been managers in gerena; (including our previous managers) I might have answered differently but I don't think it is possible to hear from CP too much.
my comments were largely around too many ads, general clutter, and bring the old format back (didn't it win awards?), as for twitter I think they are pretty much spot on - not sure they should follow fans tho if that was a serious suggestion.
I think its good they are listening, and I'd like to think we've influenced them a little on this, and giving prizes too - of course surveying your customers is a no brainer, but being fair they hadn't done it in a long time at CAFC, and not forgetting CL has also done this in the past.
Oh and credit to the club for being open to new ideas in these areas. I think this is the key to fan engagement on whatever level it takes place, forum, supporters trust, club survey etc. Its just common sense commercially.

Just did this now. Was able to skip the last twenty questions by pressing next on media stuff doesn't interest me.
I thought some of the questions 10-35 were excellent
If you are going to quote then please do not do it out of context and misrepresenting my position
As above, I thought the survey was excellent. The selective quote you have manipulated was actually a comment to Razil on my views on player, not on the survey.
Hopefully we can quickly reach a truce and realize we are of the same opinion! My first point on the was of survey was simply to evidence YOUR own statement at the beginning of this survey on was of use, with which I completely agree
I didn't make myself clear. I wasn't criticising what you said. As you say we are in agreement.
I was using it as a good example of where people could use the survey to voice their oft repeated views ie that Peter Finch is good but not the other "professionals" aren't.
There was even a question along the lines of "would you prefer to have a current or past player?"

Well I must have pI**ssed them right off then, When asked if I got up to date news from the OS. I said no I used charlton life, dosent everyone ?
Have just completed the survey - highly unlikely that I will get the lunch - but if I was to - then Henry I will donate it for auction with proceeds going to the upbeats.

Don't be downhearted by our moaning, Henry. It's all part of our vital football culture, and I'm sure you appreciate that includes our questioning, sceptical and lively curiosity. Just imagine - If all we Lifers had been born and raised in the States and were supporting the Green Bay Packers, the slightest murmur of doubt or dissent would be taken as disloyalty, and we'd be shunned, ostracised - or even sent to Coventry, where the pubs are despicable! Onwards and upwards - only three weeks to go until Park View Road....

I wrote detailed comments on the survey on exactly that point .
My favorite question was "is there too much focus on scp" !!! Of course not, the very notion there could be is heresy!
