Leicester Fans Make Me Laugh

  • I think some are confusing Yann's role here. He is not and will never be a 20+ goals man. That's not his game as revealed not only by his previous record but also by his style of play.

As alluded to above Yann's main duties are to hassle and harry defenders, win balls in the air, hold up the ball and bring others into play. On top that he can score the odd wonder goal and is a great free-kick taker. On top of that he is a player who gives everything and makes the most out of his ability. It should be noted that players like this, especially over 30, are never high on transfer wish lists which explains the lack of outside interest (he did turn down Celtic don't forget!)

He is not one of the most skilled forwards or most consistent goalscorers but he really is one of the most EFFECTIVE forwards in the league.

Winner! this guy/girl knows what they are talking about :)

As for naming the best strikers i would just copy & Paste the top scorers list, again this wouldnt prove that the others are better players but the only thing we can realistically go by. Again Kerm is perfect for this team, in this league thats all that matters :)
  • To be fair YK scored one goal in 20 games for Leicester and admits that he struggled when he first went to the club. I think the dislike of him by their fans goes a bit deeper than the missed penalty.
  • Are we missing something, they also said they wouldn't have Powell back......shows that know F all about football. End of. Them and Pearson deserve each other, let's hope for another 6 points off of them, and them failing miserably yet again.
  • Shall we give them Nathan back as well?
  • Shall we give them Nathan back as well?

    That's too cruel...........................................................no-one deserves that.
  • Yann loves it at Charlton. If he was taking a penalty for us in the play off final he wouldn't have chipped it. He just didn't care about Leicester.

I thought he was only on loan there but seems not - was a shocker but then their current French lad had a nightmare as well..maybe French penalty takers - play-off and Leicester just don't go.

From what I can remember somebody else missed too..

I might be wrong, but didn't those 20 games include a fair amount of sub appearances, and I also seem to remember a Leicester fan saying he was played out wide for a bit (though not sure how often).

If that is true Pearson has proved he knows nothing about football, how can you play Yann out wide, Sir Chris would never make a error like that.

  • Super Horns , good to see you on here, sorry you didn't achieve promotion, believe you me , I was willing your boys on!
  • First player on the team sheet in my opinion
  • People on this site do argue their point to the death, i agree he has great qualities .... but the original point was he is one of the best forwards in the league to which i disagree to an extent

The person who said he should be premier league quality too, that for example was way OTT... not saying he wouldnt be effective in the premiership but thats a complete different ball game, quicker and more intelligent defenders.

Agree Paulie lets see what he can do next season and hopefully he can be that 20 goal striker + assist man :)

He more than held his own against Fulham and various recent ex Premier league or top Championship defences this season. He is too old now for the EPL, but if Lambert, Le Fondre, Holt could hack it then I'm sure Yann could.

I remember Powell saying he was the one player all the oppo managers asked about in the promo season, so he is clearly well respected inside the game.
  • I would love to see if Yann could hack it in the Premier league.

    Hopefully with Charlton.
  • When yann plays with that special flair we are a very good team. Yann on his game Makes Charlton Athletic a real threat in the air, on the ground and capable of something special from set pieces and open play. He is often the difference in my opinion.

Also a great defender from set pieces who puts his body in the line, takes the kicks and bumps and still Gets up for more.

I would not rather have one single other striker in the championship wear à Charlton shirt before Yann the man.
  • I'm not a military guy , but he's the sort of fella you'd want in the trenches with you, never gives up or knows when he's beaten, inspirational.
  • To be fair I think I would hate him if he wasn't playing for Charlton! Must be a pain in the arse to play against as well.

It was clear after a season in League 1 he'd do well in the Championship. He had too much to his game not to step up comfortably. Some wrote him off as some fans always will do but I don't it was anywhere near everyone. Jackson was a bit different, he moved position and we had to find the right combination in midfield - Pritchard and Harriott became regular starters and Hughes/Gower replaced Stephens/Hollands etc.

No reason why Yann couldn't compete in the Prem, after Solly I'd say he's our best player. He got what, 21 goals and assists? Could easily make that 30 in a promotion side with improved service and a season without any major injuries.

Pity the French army didn't have the same attitude during WWII.....................

  • I love Yann Kermorgant. CAFC legend in the making.
  • Crumbs
  • I love Yann and think he's terrific, but come on......he gets knocked about and gets up for more? He rolls around an awful lot first!!!!!!

    Of course he does.

Pretty Standard for any footballer rolling round and exaggerating a foul .

Still the most physical striker we have had for many years.

  • If theres a better header of the ball in the Championship I haven't seen him. His flick ons are brilliant.
  • Just a shame his Charlton career started so late. Pity he's not 27 instead of 32 this year.
