Leicester Fans Make Me Laugh

Where i work we have a bar we had three guys in tonight Leicester fans,They asked who i supported when i said Charlton they laughed and said so you got that crap attacker who cant even score a penalty.
I just laughed and told them super yann is one of the best attackers in the championship and mentioned the great penalty he scored against bolton at the valley.
cant belive how bitter they still are

  • Probably a good idea to also point out he scored against them twice last season, when we took six points off them.
  • Lol yeah I made sure to point that out they said they would not take him or Powell back, they were a bunch of idiots
  • Don't they say he who laughs first, laughs last?

You should have asked him how Leicester have spent so much money on players and still managed to balls up promotion?
  • They make me laugh too.
  • He chipped for a laaaugh.

No they say he who laughs last laughs longest ;-)

I thought it was " he who laughs last doesn't get the joke"

  • Anyhow whatever it is , slip a laxative in his drink next time Paulie, that'll get em going :-0
  • I think we are being a bit biased by saying Kerm is one of the best strikers of the league, he does a good job for us but he wouldn't even get in the top 10 imo

  • Always found Leicester fans to be an alright bunch
  • Him missing that penalty worked out very well for us because he ended up at CAFC....

    Super-Yann!

If we're talking about "supporting" style forwards, as in those who are going to supply chances/win headers/hold the ball up etc. then I haven't seen anyone better this season personally.

How he found himself in League One on the back of being on the free transfer scrapheap really is a mystery to me, not that I'm complaining. He's the best player we've had since we were in the Premiership.

This is the penalty miss they should be talking about:

Honestly cant see where you are getting that from without being biased he is easily in the top ten,if you have a little tricky forward then Yann is perfect to play with him for his power alone, plus he knows where the back of the net is himself he is premier league material
  • Last season -

12 goals , 9 assists , rarely beaten in the air , out with an injury for nigh on 3 months , started the season looking unfit, scored arguably the goal of the season, he didn't do too bad in the end did he?
  • I rate Kerm as a good Championship player fwiw but i am just looking at the bigger picture to say one of the best in the league is a bit OTT.

First half of last season everyone was saying him & Jacko wasn't up to championship standard but now its the reverse. When on good form i agree he is one of the best and second half of the season he showed that.

Hopefully he kicks of next season as he finished then we will have a great chance, look forward to see who we bring in to play with him :)

His first half of the season was hampered a bit, being out injured for 3 months will do that to you, but when he came back to full fitness he has been quality since and if Solly was not absolute quality the battle for player of the season would of been very close between Kermo and Jacko, again to say that about a player who was out for 3 months speaks volumes of his ability
  • He was also suspended for 3 matches after the Forest game.

This everyone doesn't seem to know much about football

  • Loads of biased comments, yes Yann gives his all and I admire his effort and ability but he's no where near the best in this league. If he was other clubs would try and get him from us every transfer window and the premiership quality stuff... he would struggle big time in my opinion the defenders in the prem are alot more clever than the championship ones.

He's 31 years of age and known outside of Charlton as the guy who chipped the penalty and missed.

If one of the top Championship teams signed him, he would make very good use for them the way he has for us.

Can anyone name me a striker in the Championship who is as good as him in the air? If you can, then ask yourself if that person can take free kicks, score volleys, chips etc the way Yann does?

Not saying he's "the best in the league" but he's definitely one of the most EFFECTIVE players anyone could have in their side at this level.

Agree entirely about Yann's many qualities - and he often makes effective clearances when defending corners. Superb Championship player.

  • Hopefully next season he has no serious injuries and gets the whole season to push us on
  • People on this site do argue their point to the death, i agree he has great qualities .... but the original point was he is one of the best forwards in the league to which i disagree to an extent

The person who said he should be premier league quality too, that for example was way OTT... not saying he wouldnt be effective in the premiership but thats a complete different ball game, quicker and more intelligent defenders.

Agree Paulie lets see what he can do next season and hopefully he can be that 20 goal striker + assist man :)

So who do you think are the top ten forwards in the league if Yann isn't there? I'm not being facetious, I'm genuinely interested
  • Off the top of my head, last season i can only think of Murray, Rhodes, Austin, Wood......

And most of those would love to play alongside Yann.

That would apply equally to all the other strikers in this division. How many goals will Murray score for Palace next season? How many goals did Adel Taarabt score in the PL, when you consider jow he dominated the Championship?
  • oh and Vydra as he won Championship Player of the year. There may also be cases for Vaughan, Deeney, Nugent...?

The difference is Sir Christopher Powell.

The guy needs to be managed in the right way. Powell spotted this, knew how to get the best of him and got some player for absolutely nothing. How he'd do for another club is irrelevant - how did Robbie Fowler for for Leeds? At the top of his game, I'm struggling to name a striker who brings as much to his team, at this level at least.
