    I've had a re-count
    80 of the current 92
21 grounds that no longer exist
    4 now in non league
    12 In other countries(includes scotland/rep of ireland)
& god knows how many other teams on pre-season tours

I shudder to think how much this little lot has cost me over the years :0

Don't think I'll ever complete the 92 following Charlton.

I've now seen us play at 77 of the current 92 league grounds

I've seen us play at an additional 26 league grounds that no longer exist

I've seen us play at an additional 9 grounds that are no longer in the league

    Impressed with that, respect.

Currently on 70 - if you're not on here already logging your games will give you something to do over the summer.

What's the most people have done purely with Charlton?

One (the only?) small consolation of our recent lean period was the opportunity to add grounds for those so inclined.

All the 48 (can exclude The Valley obviously)

do you have to enter the actual games you went to? can't remember them but know the grounds!
  • I think Essex Addick had done 100+ different grounds with Charlton but including friendlies.

Yep. Brighton was my 119th different ground watching Charlton's 1st team. A handful were friendlies (Welling, Dartford). Missed Cardiff yesterday unfortunately. I think 80 of these grounds are in the current 92.
  • Exactly,i have been to Elm Park but Not The Madjeski, been to the Goldstone but not the withdean or the amex where does it end? If i go to the Amex and have also been to the Goldstone does it not count as i have not visited the withdean.

It depends if you're talking about visiting teams or grounds. For me the '92 club' would be current grounds only. Otherwise say, I'd have to have done Walsall's old ground too when I wasn't even alive. That rule about Luton or Grimsby coming up and not counting is rubbish. What if a team yo-yos, you could end up back at Fleetwood or somewhere every 2 years.
  • I remember reading in Voice of the Valley many years ago about two Charlton fans that did the 92 in a weekend. Do they post on here?

Looking at who we have played since the 60's,we have now played in all of the stadiums of the top two divisions.

In the bottom 2 divisions I estimate that it is 11 we have never played the current club at the current ground in a competitive first team fixture:

Accrington Stanley,AFC Wimbledon,Aldershot Town (although we did play against the predecessor club on the same ground in the 70's),Cheltenham Town,Crawley Town,Fleetwood,Morecambe,Northampton,Oxford United,Rotherham United and Torquay.

Of these I know we have played AFC Wimbledon,Aldershot Town,Crawley Town and Torquay in pre season friendlies.

As has been said above I think it would almost be impossible now to do the 92 with one club.

  • i've done 82 different grounds (20 old grounds no longer used and 6 out of the league structure atm) for competitive Charlton games but only 56 are currently in the 92
  • Wimbledon = Plough Lane, done. In my personal 92 club. All relative isn't it?

Of the current 92 clubs I have 'done' 99 grounds with Charlton. This includes our home games at various venues, likewise with other clubs, example Arsenal at Highbury and The Emirates=2. Would reckon I touch 140 once counting ex-league, non-league and abroad.
With neutral games I must be getting on for 300, sad ******* that I am!
  • legend elfsborg you is a legend
  • Following Cardiff, I've done 87 clubs/102 grounds (plus Brescia & Wembley) all watching Charlton. A couple of those visits are no longer league clubs or were friendlies but I'm not really interested in the 92 Club thing. The rules about only current league clubs and competitive matches counting are just silly. It's like saying just because Comet and Woolworth's no longer exist, you never shopped there.
  • 58 of the current 92 clubs, 5 of which I've seen at both their old and new grounds. Chesterfield is the only one where I have only done the old ground and not the new one. Also done Luton in the Conference, and Welling. Done a few abroad / Scotland as well.
  • Congratulations, Richard J - that's a hell of an achievement. Tasteful " 92 Club " badge and tie to follow.

I went to a number of northern outposts when I was up at university between 76 and 79 and went away with Charlton fairly regularly in the mid to late 80s. That changed when our three children came along, although the boys are in their early 20s now and our daughter is up at Manchester university ( a good base from which to see a few games on the odd visit ). More to the point, I am taking a ( very ) part time consultancy with my firm and shall therefore have much more time to go away on these sort of trips.

Having 'lost' 15 grounds through moves to new stadia and teams dropping out of the League, I have only done 42 current grounds. I'll probably do 8 or 9 new ones next year, although I always try and ensure that I see a bit of the area and a local sight, as well as a few good pubs. For example, whilst people may not think of Burnley as a particularly interesting place, I thoroughly enjoyed Towneley Hall Art Gallery and Museum ( fairly near the ground ) and Burnley District Miners Club. Turning up and going straight into a ground is not for me.

I therefore doubt that I'll get anywhere close to the 92, although I can see that, if you get to somewhere around the 80 mark, it would be worth having a go.

Absoutely Blucher, just to reassure some who see this as 'sad',some of my most interesting stories come from the neutral games. Most places in the United Kingdom have other places to visit when I have attended games.

I have been lucky over this last year because my work has involved overnight stays in Bristol,Derby,Manchester and York which between them proved to be excellent bases to complete my set.
  • Yes, an excellent way to see different parts of the country and to get a feel for towns you've never visited before. Easier to do if you're in the area for work or visiting friends or family, although even long day trips can accommodate a decent pub lunch.
