Anf yeah whay oggy said. Make him feel welcome. He has been badly managed stuck in that footballing bacwater. Plus also not the most enjoyable culture for an african to feel loved. Lets show him that love.
With the signing of Gower and now Rouamba, it is clear that CP has prioritised the midfield for strengthening. Not sure that either will bring the creative spark we badly need but maybe their experience, strength and passing game will enable Stevo and maybe Danny Green, two of our more skilful but lightweight players, to express themselves more. I hope so.
Anyway, a couple of new faces will freshen things up, which can only be a good thing. Might just shake us out of our home form rut.

Not sure why but I feel positive about this. If he can settle in Moldova, you'd like to think he'd settle in London. BK had a great ACN. #hopeful
I wonder how he came here? Did he leave his club in Moldova, catch a flight to London and appear at our training ground. Was Phil Chapple in Moldova doing some scouting?

He was on the £1 a week trial scheme for all desperate footballers playing in leagues you haven't heard of who might be Charlton's next saviour but strangely never are and disappear in a puff of smoke, usually without ever stepping onto the pitch.
Think some people are doing this lad down a bit. He's been training with us for a few weeks and SCP has had a chance to have a look. He's played for a very very good BF team in the final of The Africa Cup Of Nations. I suspect his contract to the end of the season is as much to do with us not knowing where we will be or owned by whom just as much as him not cutting it. Welcome Florent.
Dm is not a kids position. Did u watch the AFnat? Guy is a rock. I dont know why he haa stayed in moldova for so long but suspect its due to bad agency
Abyway....having bossed a major int tournie...he has drawn attention. We are lucky to have him imho.
I can understand of previous flops have affected ur judgment and u approach this signing with trepidation. But give him a chance pls
Who knows...in that lonely hotel room he might have logged on to CL. So lets give him a welcone he deserves.
Looking forward to seeing him score a goal for us like that one against Alkmaar. And when was the last time we had a player who'd played in a major international cup final?

Stop trying to put a reasoned, sensible sort of slant on things ;-)
It's all a bit reminiscent of the early / mid 90s in that, due to a lack of cash, we're signing players who no one has any idea about. Could be good, could be hopeless. John Robinson for £75K anyone? Sad to think that now £75K might buy you a month of Rob Hulse, if you're lucky.

All these people who come on here slagging players off without seeing them and saying they are shit after one or two games
Are you really that clueless on football
If so stop going and find something else to do
Could not agree more. He has not even unpacked his boots yet!
We have all had our misgivings over our midfield and we all know we need (at least one) young player to move us forward next season; and it ain't coming from the Prem league, or indeed the best of this league.
I am sure that a lot of people have put a lot of hard work and a lot of hard earned money into making this happen, and yet there are some on here putting the boot in before he has started a game.
The time to judge is after you have seen all his training and performances and add it to what you know about him from your scouts. i.e. leave it to Chris.
Well lets hope that whatever CP has seen in him he can replicate on the pitch. Good luck to the fella. One things for sure though, coming the football route he has he ain't gonna be a soft touch. We could do with a bit of steel in the middle I reckon and maybe he can provide some of it.
To be fair, our midfield presently would not stand up to a pair of malnourished boy scouts with rickets, so a bit of muscle is just as important as laser-guided, precision long passes to feet. If he does well, sign him up, if not, outlay of time and money is minimal. CP has more unpolished diamonds than shiny turds when it comes to transfers, so I trust his judgement on this one.
Are people actually knocking a player they've never heard of based on the fact they don't like the league he was playing in? Jesus Christ. Chris Smalling was picked up from Maidstone Utd. Charlie Austin from Poole. Roy Keane was at Cobh Ramblers before Forest picked him up. This bloke has international experience at a very strong tournament and received good reviews. At least wait until he's played a minute's football.
Anyway, numpties aside, I feel like one of our biggest problems is the fact that every time we take the lead I expect us to concede not long after. I remember the genuine surprise (and joy) I felt when we got a clean sheet against Huddersfield and the utter lack of shock when teams like Peterboro pulled back to level terms. While we definitely do need a creative player (or a few) at the present time a more pressing issue is the need to see out games, to be strong and cohesive for 90 minutes, particularly at the end. We have players like Haynes, Yann, Fuller and Jackson who can always pop up with goals so bringing in two hardworking defensive minded midfielders could be just what we need to see this season out and start building for the next. Assuming this guy gets cleared to play I'm very pleased to see him sign. If he can go through some players and stop us giving away goals in the last ten mins I'll pay his wages myself
In razzel and fiesta, escort etc in the 90 s there used to always be a c**k hungry temptress that was the boarding house for the local footie team who's kids had grown up and gone uni and the over seas new signings used to stay there and destroy her and get destroyed by her and if they were really lucky nancy and Ellie used to come home and join in
Now I know it was only in Jizz corner letters but surely it's better to send young players round to saucy Sheila than the travel lodge

Inta the goal, inta the goal

Equally gower could shag florents dog and it all goes balls up. Still glass half full and all that
Means nothing where he's from
Really does it?
Give one of our kids a chance for Gods sake.

Bloody well said, all of your posts. Appreciate your knowledge of the African game.
Feeling very positive as a result, welcome Florent

We probably won't get a work permit anyway :-/

The player's number 7 selection Burkina Faso (Florent Rouamba) only plays without underwear.
