I seem to remember back in the early 70's the club ran a competition for the fans to come up with a song for he team. The winning song was to the the tune of the Lambeth Walk. It went something along the lines of:
Lets cheer Charlton hip hooray Lets cheer Charlton all the way They'll beat them all Playing he best football Hey!
It understandably died a death.
Probably a bit of plagiarism here.
'If you live down New Cross way Three O'Clock on Saturday You'll find Millwall Playing the shit football - Oi.'
Ironically they used to kick off at 3.15 when this was sung in the 70's.
I'm in there in front of the moody bloke on the back row who is refusing to join in.
Before the cringe-worthy merchants say anything, it was a final away game of the season and we had already won the league and it has never been repeated.
I'm in that pic to. Lower left in the white away shirt where you can just see the top of the number 7 as I've turned my head to the right to see the pozan.
We tried to get the 'El Kakhouri Hokey Cokey' going once. That never took off either. The people around me at that time were so miserable (no names mentioned - Stone)
