I am once again starting to fear relegation............we have a few 6 pointers coming up, most of them at home. After today's debacle I can see us losing to Bolton, Wolves & Bristol City at home with our only other home game being against Leeds. Away from home is where we really have to expect to pick up the 6 or 7 points needed to survive , but we have to play Brighton, Barnsley, 'Boro and Cardiff !!
This exchange from the "Play-Offs" thread. I stand by my views.

I really hope you are right OA but I think this could be the season when a team gets relegated with a record high number of points. Comparing the situation at the bottom of the Championship with just the previous 3 seasons shows:
This season:
Bristol City - Played 37, Points 39 Peterborough - Played 36, Points 38 Barnsley - Played 35, Points 38
2011/12
Coventry - Played 37, Points 31 Doncaster - Played 36, Points 31 Portsmouth - Played 36, Points 27
2010/11
Scunthorpe - Played 36, Points 34 Sheffield Utd - Played 37, Points 32 Preston - Played 35, Points 25
2009/10
Scunthorpe - Played 35, Points 38 Plymouth - Played 36, Points 34 Peterborough - Played 37, Points 30
With the exception of Scunny in 2009/10, who escaped at the expense of Sheffield Weds, the bottom 3 in each season were the ones who went down - which looks promising from our point of view. However, it is also clear that none of the teams below us are far adrift at this stage of the season, which is very unusual, and all are picking up points. The league is closer than ever this season.
That's why I am not comfortable with 47 or 50 points, and why I won't be comfortable until we get to 55. Don't get me wrong - 50 points and we SHOULD be ok, 52/53 points and it is pretty certain - but I just don't think we can relax when we get to those landmarks. just how heartbreaking would it be if we got to 50 or 52 points, took our eye off the ball, and then got relegated?
Hmm, our run in is: Bolton H Brighton A Leeds H Barnsley A Cardiff A Wolves H Boro A Bristol H
I can see us picking up points at Brighton, Barnsley and Boro. Our home form is so whack that I can see us losing every one. So, we need to win those three and see if we can get something at Cardiff. If we don't, and it comes down to Bristol city on the last day, I fear we will be entertaining Yeovil and Gillingham. We desperately need some of the teams below us to go on a bad run, and preferably not one that involves playing us at The Valley.

Hoping that Bristols might already be down by last game, and therefore maybe we can win that one
So The_President my original comment was correct that YOUR original post (which you later tried to deny) was about relegation. I am not belligerent, simply trying to be positive amongst a host of Corporal Wilsons. I am still confident that we will avoid relegation but only a fool would deny that our home form is appalling. I am not attacking you, you are entitled to your opinion, as am I.
I don't think Powell got the team selection wrong today (although even before today I preferred Hamer to Button) bearing in mind the players he had available for selection.

One day you might have something to say positive about Charlton
I suspect we'll pick up some points vs Wolves, Bristol and Barnsley which will keep us up
and I suspect that at least 2 of those teams have managers with far more tactical nous than CP
Well, i would suspect that some of them have SOME tactical nous - which means they have more than Powell.
Like he had no tactical nous last season yeah?
TBH, i dont think that tactics had much to do with our 100+ points haul- simply a better team against crap opposition. I dont see that there was much tactics involved - if you do, then maybe you should re-visit some of the highlights from Jan 2012.

Like when we were already relegated and beat Norwich thus dragging them down with us? (in reverse)

I think this is almost certain now.
8 games left and 2nd bottom has 42 points. 50 is going to be nowhere near enough in my opinion.
Strange.
