In all seriousness mate, if you were that interested or committed you should have sorted this a long time ago, by either building up relationships on here or talking to the club. There are a lot of Millwall looking for tickets and this is a high risk game. Leaving it this late you won't get anyone seriously willing to risk helping you. Sorry mate.
The only reason I left it this late is because I didn't know that the tickets would be on restricted sale, since I have never bought tickets for a Charlton match before. Obviously if I had known they were on restricted sale I would have tried to get the tickets earlier, but when I looked on the Charlton website it never said anything about the restricted sale until they were released.
I am going to email and phone the club to explain the situation and hopefully when they see that we are calling from a South African number they will realise that we are genuine.
I know you are posting from Cape Town. However there are restrictions in place whereby if supporters buy tickets for people they later discover are not home fans, then they will lose their memberships amongst other things. Unfortunately, it is unlikely anyone will be willing to help you i'm afraid.
This is the only fixture that ever has these restrictions, if your trip was at any other time there would be no problem.
All the best
Ok, thanks for being serious and helpful about my question.
I understand that people don't want to risk selling a ticket to someone they don't know, but I was just hoping that maybe someone knew a place where I could get tickets from.
I am going to email and phone the club later today and hopefully they'll understand why I can't buy tickets and see that I genuinely support Charlton (since I will be phoning from a South African number)
@Warren I heard about this on CharltonLive this evening.
Warren if you are Charlton, I sympathize with you as it's going to be really difficult to get a ticket.
I can only suggest you call the ticket centre and explain the situation. Did you ever have a ST before you moved to SA? They may be able to search for things like that, if you can prove your address etc before you moved??
I wouldn't count on it though. Best of luck...
Thanks, I will try calling the ticket centre to explain that I'm from South Africa so I can't buy tickets. (btw, I never lived in the UK - in South Africa people support english football teams)
Don't think it'll matter where you come from the club have had too many scum buckets(millwall fans) piping up in home areas and causing grief that a zero tolerance policy of having to be a proper member of the club or no ticket is in place And seeing as you're not a member you won't get a ticket Its the minority of scum that spoil it for the normal punters
there will be 100,000 PikeySpanners outside the valley ticketless---------HarryThe Frog gave me the SP, no hairdressing salons will be left standing. The main International crew are meeting at Clippy Petes salon in Deptford.
I believe you are more likely to be a Charlton fan than not but you won't get a ticket. Firstly, some Millwall apes will go to any measures to get a ticket/s so nobody can be trusted, secondly, if we helped and it went bad, we would have big implications to deal with (sanctions from club, loss of membership etc...), thirdly, and this is more advice, it would be good if you became an active part of the forum. If we got to know you over a decent period, we wouldn't be taking a risk next time and might be more inclined to help you.
The Millwall game is a nasty game with a nasty atmosphere anyway. They truly are a scummy team. Better to watch us play a decent proper side. I'm going but I never enjoy these games- I like beating them, but Millwall isn't what football should be about.
Why these "overseas fans" do not join the International Addicks and apply for an Oversea Red Card then they would have no trouble in getting tickets. All the information is on the OS. Be a bit late for this weekend.
As I read down I realised my proposed joke which revolved around " I would get you a ticket if I thought you were a Millwall supporter, but as your South African , no chance !" would not go down well, so I won't use it. Bloody shame though, I though it would be funny.

No need for people to be rude to you though.
Ya, I understand that reluctancy of people to sell tickets to random fans in case it goes wrong.
With regards to being an active member of the forum - Charlton matches aren't televised in South Africa (Only Premier League games are) so it's kind of hard for me to comment on anything if I can't actually watch the matches. Hopefully Charlton will get promoted back to the PL soon so that I'll be able to watch them on TV.
I always knew that Millwall is known for their violence/bad behaviour, but I never realised that it is still as bad now as it was before. I just thought that it would be really cool for my first visit to The Valley to be a derby match. Next time (hopefully we'll be in the prem by then) I'll make sure that the match is against another team, cause then I won't even have this problem with tickets.

Oh, thanks for letting me know about this, I hadn't seen it before. I'll join/apply for the overseas red card.
I didn't really bother about the red card, because when I looked earlier this year, you could buy tickets for the home match against Burnley (2 March) without a Red Card, so I assumed it would be the same for the match against Millwall.

Millwall are our closest local rivals and therefore Saturday is one of the biggest league games at home all season, if you were a Charlton fan you would know this.
Apologies for the scepticism but we get a lot of requests from charlton "fans" out of the blue trying to get tickets on the forum when theres a big game coming up....
(For my last post I meant to say that I had seen the normal Red Card on the Charlton website, but not the Overseas Red Card)
Warren, dont take the comments too seriously. As you have figured out by now, we are a bit touchy about this game, and generally this game only - there are big repercussions if home areas are sold to away fans, and thats why the regulars on here are a bit 'funny' about it. As i said, take it all with a pinch of salt.
BTW, I lived in Cape Town for quite a few years until recently, so tell me what suburb you are from (you sound like a Northern Suburbs boy by you saying 'Ya' in a previous post - and then i'll ask you a few questions that i can verify as you being kosher. At least that way the doubters on here will know you for sure are a genuine fan.

The Palace game at the Valley was shown live on Supersport at the start of the season...

Yeah, they'll have the odd Live Champs Sky games on, but what Waren means is that he used to get every game on Supersport when we were in the PL. Twas brilliant, used to watch virtually every game live - the PL coverage on SuperSport is absolutely brilliant.

Was only winding him up.... Im from South Africa so grew up watching nothing but premier league football

And it's alright, I'd also be skeptic if I was in your position.
