On the Brighton thing, they always got decent gates at the Goldstone, and then were restricted at the Withdean to 7,000. No real surprise they get such big gates.

Brighton "where were 15K of our supporters when we were sh*t" & Hove Albion is still a valid nickname....
They couldn't even sell out their last ground which was something like 7,000. They've been invaded by a lot of premiership fans who treat Brighton as their second club. Give it a few years for the novelty to wear off and they'll be back in the lower leagues where they belong. Vile club.
It must pain you to see them rapidly becoming the most 'on the up' club in the Football League. Pretty much everyone I know has got a lot of time for Brighton considering the journey they've been on.

Palace's support is made up on a whole load of "novelty" aspects, how rich!
Everything about that club sickens me from their wonky new stadium to their wanky 'new' fans.

On the way up? We'll see about that. I'd rather you get promoted than see those tossers go up.

Question out of curiousity, do you live near Brighton or know any brighton fans? Or do you just hate them because you feel you have to?
  • Unfortunately Maestro cannot reply at present, as he is too busy designing this months club badge.
  • He said we're only 5th on his hate list because he doesn't know any Charlton fans. He therefore must know lots of Brighton fans.

    Charlton have a rich history, 7-6, 1947, 1992, 1998, 75,031. etc.

The nigels had a bit of success when we were over there funding it, and by success I mean a cup final appearance and a 4th place finish.

Their constant rebranding (American term) and theatrics to entertain the fans at home games show what a joke they are. They embody every wrong with modern football and are a pointless club.
  • Agree above bar we have a rich history
  • For a one club city, Leeds get some shocking home attendances.
Saying that they've probably got one of the best away supports in the country.

Our away support is still pretty shite compared to our home numbers.

A lot of Leeds fans refuse to go to Elland Road again until Bates is removed. He may have now gone though?

  • Also, surprised to see Watford's travelling numbers are so low considering how well they are doing, while Wednesday's are impressive for a side fighting relegation. Despite all the antagonism on here always liked them and they are big club who should be back in the Premier League really.

Compared to an irrelevant club. If you haven't achieved anything in 100 years, what's the point?

    Sore subject.

We'll have a new badge next season. No, I have no idea what it will look like and yes, it will probably be crap :-(

I know people that live in Brighton that supported Liverpool 2 seasons ago and are now season ticket holders at the Amex.

My hatred comes from the few that I do know and also history.

We finished 3rd by the way!!

75k? Very good. Learn something new every day. Beats our 52k.

Pointless? Come on, even Charlton fans would admit that they are forever in the shadow of Crystal Palace, Millwall and arguably Wimbledon.

    Do parasites cast shadows???

  • Have to agree that we live in Palace's shadow.

The shadow cast by their record number of relegations from the Premiership, their two admins in 10 years, their empty trophy cabinet and founder membership of Division 4 are all things we can only dream of.

Our major trophy win, 33% higher record crowd, more seasons in the top flight and in the Premier league and higher top flight finish all pale into insignificance compared to that.

If only we had copied Benfica's nickname and Barcelona's kit we'd be a big team too.

The Brighton manager threw some money on the floor and told the palace fans, who must have good hearing, "This is all your worth", and so started the hatred! How can you not hate someone for that?! No wonder they think we're odd for hating a club who wanted to put us out of business. Funny enough twice in the next 20 years the money on the floor was actually worth more than palace.

Wimbledon are the biggest of the 3 shadowcasters imo and they don't even exist any more!
  • FFS, the players in the eagles wallpaper are wearing Charlton kits...
  • Whatever became of their Gamesmakers? History in the making if you ask me.

  • That video has taught me two things about Palace.

    1) The Brighton/Palace rivalry is pathetic. If that's what instigates an 'intense' rivalry then most clubs in this country should have about 5-6 of these each.

    2) Your supporters are WEIRD
  • I still can't get over how Clowntown sounds like Charlton? My 3 year old could point out they're nothing alike, yet the find it so hilarious.

You'll never heard them call millwall something as unwitty as spanners though.

Call them pikeys because they're from south london, yet try ridiculously hard to be seen as a south london club themselves. Very odd

What's going on with Watford? You'd expect them to be selling out, surely?

No chance sadly...we wouldn't in the Premier league too often I suspect if we are lucky enough to get there.

  • I'm ashamed to admit I was one of those 52k.

I was cheering Burnley on with some Sunderland fans though.

This sums up them to a tee, for gods sake maestro your club has no identity. None, zilch. And no-one has even mentioned the ill fated crystal palace USA baltimore project.

    1) you wouldn't understand a real rivalry. Even a pitiful club like millwall have you as number 3. Maybe try to have your own identity rather than copy us/millwall and people might take note of you. I'll be honest, it's quite sad really.

    2) pot kettle black train spotters.

Keep coming back on here tho dont you ya little freak

It makes Brighton as bad as you. It's like two clubs have agreed to hate each other to make up a rivalry. Give themselves some self purpose as without it they feel like NOBODY notices them.

Now that's what you call sad.

    Have your own identity? Pffffffffffft!

Remind me why you play in red and blue? Remind me why you're nicknamed the Eagles? Remind me why you started up the now defunct coaches to Selhurst? Remind me why you have cheerleaders on the pitch? Remind me when you wallys taught Italy about ultras?

I think you lot have a bit of an issue with 'identity'.

You're made up of more bits and pieces than 20 year old Fiesta!
