Draw was a fair result, both teams could have stolen the three points on numerous occasions.
Very proud of the lads for getting back into the game after 1-0. I couldn't care less if people think we should have done better because of boro position, they are a very useful footballing side who are alot better than over a handful of teams we've played this year.
Jackson had one of his much better games for us, and feel if we can get the right midfielder to go next to him next seaon that we could see huge improvments in both our attacking form and holding a lead.
Overall pleased with 2-2, as that was my prediction before the game and it's another point gained.0 -
Saddens me that's all you have to say about the game, phil. Did you leave at half time ?Valiantphil said:Just got back.
Prepare for a relegation battle.
On the first half performance ( when we could have been 2 nil up if we'd taken our chances) you maybe have a point.
But 2nd half we were a different team ..played the ball more to feet, sharper, and gutsy. JJ took the game by the scruff of the neck just as he'd done against Cardiff, bless his cotton socks. You could see the confidence in all our lads starting to rise and it went sky high when Danno scored the 2nd.
Wasn't impressed with young Callum in the first 45 but he showed just how valuable an asset he can be after half time & grew in confidence. Wiggy is almost back to his best which is great news and our two "hammys" in attack came through seemingly unscathed after battling with a pretty physical Boro team. All in all a decent & well deserved point but most of all a confidence builder leading up to the trip to Yorkshire at the weekend.
Oh and great support tonight which I believe in part helped the lads. Let's keep that noise level going for the rest of the season & really get behind the team and our manager. We can't let this momentum fizzle out !
Onwards & upwards !

A fair point. After Posh's shaky start, you could see what their recent results have been built upon. They play half decent football for a side in so much trouble and their midfield and front two could grace a midtable side. Their problem is their defence and we didn't do quite enough to fully exploit their weaknesses (Fuller was not 'on fire' tonight, Haynes was moreso). Thought that we battled well throughout and looked pretty dangerous in a 15 minute 2nd half spell. All in all, satisfied that the gap is not narrower tonight and we have something upon which to kickstart a new unbeaten run. We simply did not want 3 defeats in a row. Well done SCP and the lads - onwards and (lookey) upwards!0

Any talk of relegation is frankly ridiculous.0
-
Button never punched it in the first was an error from morrison and a powder puff challenge
The second he is a step to far right and should have sorted his feet quicker but thats the luck of a goalie
Its a good point because we keep them needing to pull us back in, lose and i would agree we are in shit
Giing 1 nil down after sats result takes courage and gutts to turnaround for that reason its a good result and a very good point0 -
I think it's really harsh to criticise Button for the equaliser. It was a cracking shot. If anybody should be blamed it should be Pritchard for not closing the posh player down.0

Pritchard should have closed him down maybe, but as soon as the bloke got it we could all see what he'd do with it, from the other end of the ground, Button can't be exonerated imo

Nonsense. Was good on Saturday bar one unpunished slip. Was difficult to see how far out the shot was tonight from behind that goal, but it's just one of those things. It's not like he had caught the ball and it squirmed through, he just didn't get down in time.Valley11 said:Thanks. I hope he doesn't get a battering. Someone said in the match thread that 'he's had his chance and hadn't impressed.' ridiculous.
The defence look a lot more confident with him behind them - and it probably helps that he comes for (and takes) crosses. More than done enough to retain his place. Hamer has some work to do now.

Solly was very poor 1st half, picked it up second though. Think he is probably still carrying a bit of a knock.
Harriot looked impressive in spells, cracking ball for the first goal. Looks like he lacks a bit of confidence at the moment for running at players though, hope he starts at hudds.0 -

I think people are going a bit OTT with the "we're in a relegation battle" stuff - we're not safe yet but a couple of decent results will do us fine.
You'd hardly say that Norwich are in a relegation battle in the Premiership would you?0 -
Good idea Oaky - Mrs EA and I are staying at the Travel Lodge in Woolwich after the Millwall game for 26 quid - surely even CAFC can afford those kind of rates.Oakster said:Just an idea but why not base the squad up in Middlesborough or some other hellhole northern backwater & then make them travel down the day before the game on the team coach & have them stay in the local Travellodge. That way even though we are at home they'll feel like they are away.

Careful, that's my hometown you're talking about! You're right though, city centre is dead once the shops close, sad really.paulsturgess said:Walked all the way through the town centre from the station to the ground and didnt pass a single newsagent, off license or open take away. Peterboroughs a shit hole.
Anyway, my two penneth...
Great Charlton support tonight, terrace added to the atmosphere. Home fans were terrible though, heard one song all night, and that was 'you're not fit to referee', moments after he gave them a free kick...
Encouraging to see just how much it meant to Jacko to score, loved his reaction.
Thought Morro should've probably got a tackle in before their first goal, but without him and Taylor tonight, we'd have been in real trouble. It did seem at times early on there was a huge gap down the middle though, sure I saw words from Morro at one point...
For me Harriot had a game of two halves, was a real worry first half, totally outclassed. Second half was a different story and he really grew in confidence, created some good moves. Pritchard was pretty anonymous I thought.
Button had a decent game but from my vantage point he definitely should've done better on their equaliser, and I think the players reactions suggest they thought the same. Perhaps could've had more confidence and distributed the ball quicker too, was guilty of holding onto it for too long at times...
Finally, that corner routine which presumably came off the training ground was unbelievably embarrassing!
Anyway, draw probably sums the game up, and means I can go into work tomorrow with my head held high. AND the alternative would've been a disaster for our hopes of avoiding relegation. Personally can't see Posh surviving, their run in seems tough, six of the top 10, but they do seem to thrive against the bigger teams. Would like them to stay up for a repeat performance next season!0 -
Thought Harriot did OK, seemed to be out muscled in the early stages and lacked the confidence to take his man on with any real conviction, having said that peterborough doubled on on him (repsect!) Was much more influential second half and had an assist in Jacksons goal.Weegie Addick said:How did Harriott do in the end then?
Called this 2-2. decent game both teams having good and bad spells, could have gone either way, take a draw and indoors by 10.15!0 -
Think he might have done better, but no mistake, long range effort through a crowd of players saw it lateBlackForestReds said:
Not sure it seems there was a long range shot which bounced in front of Button and went through his hands. The commentators seemed to think it was a mistake and what the heck we need a player to slag off this week...Valley11 said:What happened with the second goal - was Button at fault?
Hamer would have saved it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard fought commited team perfomance, no question. They play for each other, the manager and the fansRedrobo said:nth london addick said:Right before the unrealistic brigade get on
It's a good point on the back of two defeats
It sounded like character and resilliance it sounded hard fought and earned
It sounded gutsy and full of endeavour and it showed fight and trsticular fortitude
If we lost we are in posh sights big time we didn't we fought we scored two we hit the bar we went close on occasions
There will be some who know fuck all about football who will say dervite sub was not attacking enough or show ambition
Yet it has wasted time it has helped get a great point
Now get your balls out and check you have then there are teams worse than us
Man up u pussys
Agree. Great point. 9 games left. A point at least on Sat and we should be on our way to safety.0 -

There's a lot of weirdness here... Happy with a draw to 2nd bottom?0
-
I think the reality has set in that we're not very good and it is all about survival and a point that keeps the gap between us and them to 7 (albeit with a game in hand) is a good one once ours and their recent form is taken into considerationDazzler21 said:There's a lot of weirdness here... And that we went a goal down and we could've easily buckled the weirdness is that people are unrealistic.0

We need to hit 50 points as soon as possible. Weve been hovering around 40 odd points for a worryingly long time and our home form hasnt helped. If it wasnt for the run of conceding last minute goals recently we would be at least 6 points better off.
I think we will stay up, despite the poor home form I fancy us to win a couple of the 5 home games left.
I dont think we will beat Millwall, our record in local derbies this season is poor, and we seem to catch teams at the point they turn around their poor form. Beat Bolton and Id happily take a draw from Millwall...0 -

Maybe a loan signing to freshen things up in midfield and then push on for the remainder of the season to see it out and keep clear of the pack behind0 -

That wasn't a leading question by the way. Button needs more games before being judged/becoming the new 'goat'The Red Robin said:

Bollocks to all the perecentages, no chance of us going down, we're six points clear and yes, Peteborough have a game in hand, but they have to win it. I'd rather have the points0
-
Couldn't agree more. I actually think he's looked quite decent so far. He certainly doesn't flap as much as Hamer. Difficult to tell if he was at fault for the second, it took a bounce before it reached him and the defence should have closed Bostwick down.Valley11 said:

Millwall could lose 999 out of 1000 games but the one thaey would win would be against us0
