Button - 6. Not too much to do. Could do nothing about the goal.
Wilson - 6 Adequate. A couple of decent interceptions. Chris Solly was missed. Where was he ?
    Morrison - 5.5
    Cort - 5.5
Wiggins - 6 OK in a poor team performance.
Dervite - 4 - Totally out of position. I was dismayed when I saw him play in that position again after last week.
    pritchard - 5
Jackson - 5 - Not a good position for him today. Better further forward.
Haynes - 5 - Ball did not stick to his feet at all. Not a right wing / midfield player.
Fuller - 4. 5 - Poor game. Did not step up to the plate as you would expect from a senior pro.
Obika -4 - Not a right wing. Looked very average and failing to see what he adds to the team. Is this the best we can do ? Maybe he is better at centre forward behind the front player.

Harriott - 5 - Disappointed that he looked so poor.
Green - 5 - Lacks pace to beat a man. Not a winger. Tried.

CP - Dire formation, that I hope not to see again at home with the current crop of players. 3 (Subs made at roughly the right time but by then it was too late).

No man of the match. Dire overall performance. No leaders on the pitch. Relegation football. Only thing saving us is the away form.
  • The low marks are a bit ridiculous given our chances and domination, and the fact we made Burnley look almost completely unthreatening
  • Button 5

    Green - 7
  • Button - 6 one doggy moment, but didn't have much more

Wilson. 6 average game, didn't over lap enough

Morrison 4 terrible game, looked nervous everytime on the ball.

Cort 4- 50p head. Gets his head to the ball but hasn't no control of where it goes.

Wiggins - 7 good game. Tried hard and was a constant threat

Haynes. 6 Not affective on the wing. Tried hard.
Jackson- 6 plenty of effort but no quality on the ball.
Pritchard 5 again plenty of effort but no quality on the ball whatsoever. A non league player playing in an average team.

    Dervite 5- not a midfielder

Fuller 5 terrible game. Nothing he did came off!

Obika 4- terrible debut. Not his fault up against some real tough defenders and in a team which isn't playing well.

    Subs

Green- something different. Ability on the ball. Best game so far

Harriott- glimpses of what is to come from him! Didn't get the ball enough!

Do you mean the 150 crosses we put over that were all headed out by the first man.

  • Happy to respect the opinion of any fan at the match. Strongly disagree, no player deserves more than 6. The team performance was poor, League 1 standard.

Button 6 Did ok. No chance with the goal. Couple of half decent saves but spilt a couple too.

Wilson 6.5 Decent shift out of position and supplied the cross for our best goal scoring opportunity.

Morrison 6 Bit wobbly but basically sound

    Cort 6 Did his job

Wiggins 6 Ok not the threat going forward he can be

Dervite 6 Broke the play up but passing poor

pritchard 6.5 Usual hardworking performance but lacks confidence in front of goal. Just about MOM

Jackson 6 would have been 6.5 but he faded.

Haynes 6 The first touch of Jason Euell but tried hard and was thwarted by an excellent save by Grant from Wilson's cross

Fuller 5 Lazy, back to Jimmy Floyd Fuller. Couldn't even be bothered to check his studs before the game and wasted 5 minutes changing his boots.

Obika 5.5 Ineffective but not a lot of service

Harriott 6 Tried to make something happen but dominated physically

Green 6.5 Probably the best I've seen from him. Not convinced he would do it for 90 minutes though!
  • Button 6
Wilson 6 (a midfielder playing at full back and it showed)
    Morrison 6
Cort 5 (head the ball OUT not UP, is it really that hard?!)
    Wiggins 6.5 MOM
Dervite 4 (Can't remember him completing a successful pass to a Charlton player)
    pritchard 6
    Jackson 6
    Haynes 6
Fuller 5.5 (didn't do well but had absolutely no help at all0
Obika 5.5 (Chucked in at the deep end, but didn't look particularly inspiring)

    Harriott 6
Green 6.5 (Much more effort than usual, shame any and every cross seemed to hit a defender)

  • Button 6.0
    Wilson 6.0
    Morrison 6.5
    Cort 6.5
    Wiggins 7.0
    Dervite 5.5
    pritchard 6.5
    Jackson 6.0
    Haynes 6.0
    Fuller 6.5
    Obika 5.5

    Harriott 5.5
    Green 6.5

CP 3.0 Too may changes to provide a settled performance; doesn't make sense selecting Wilson and then putting him at right back. I accept CP is still on a learning curve but at the moment he seems to be getting it wrong too many times for comfort. In his favour his team have to contend with the worst playing surface I have seen at the Valley in years; no wonder we do better away from home!

With Sols injured who would have put at RB in that situation?
  • Button - 6
    Wilson - 6.5
    Morrison - 5

    Dervite - 5

    Harriott - 6
    Green - 7
  • Button - 6 - a couple of spills, but recovered well. Looks commanding for crosses, no chance with goal & not a lot else to do.

Wilson - 6.5 - thought he covered well & got forward when he could.

Morrison - 4 - seemed hesitant. Losing concentration, especially where he completely mistimed header & ball bounced up into his face.

Cort - 4.5 - mentioned above...a 50p head. Wins ball, but lacks control, so gives away possession cheaply.

Wiggins - 7 - edges MoM. Got forward well & did his defending.

Dervite - 4.5 - one good pass I think. Not a midfielder, holding or otherwise.

Pritchard - 4.5 - plenty of energy, no body strength, composure or a shot.

Jackson - 5.5 - a few good moments, but don't think he can last 90 minutes.

Haynes - 6 - seemed to be the only forward with any gumption, effort.

Fuller - 4.5 - got the hump when ref kept, rightly, penalising him. Keep your bloody hands down!!

Obika - 4.5 - will give him the benefit of the doubt. Seemed lively in patches, but faded very badly.

Harriott - 6 - great 1st touch, but then panicked with the cross/pass/shot. Hardly saw the ball after that, sadly.

Green - 7 - a shot of urgency into the game when he came on. Pleased for him & can't believe that he won't get a chance after that. Put a few "regulars" to shame.

Overall, a lack of quality against a poor side who benefit from a class striker. That said, they shouldn't have been up that end of the pitch. I'll never know how we didn't have a free-kick from the back pass just beforehand. Awful refereeing.

I think that the forwards marks suffer from the lack of midfield
  • Button 7 - did well. Goal unstoppable.
    Wilson 7 - better than I expected.
    Morrison 5 - seemed distracted.
    Cort 6 - did ok.
Wiggins 7.5 - good to see him back. Did well in difficult circumstances.
    Dervite 5 - Poor everything.
Pritchard 5.5 - too lightweight in 3 man midfield.
Jackson 6.5 - did what he could.
    Haynes 6 - disinterested. Not a winger.
Fuller 7 - Dod what he could without a midfield.
Obika 5 - Bring back BWP.

Harriott 5 - nothing going down the left.
    Green 7.5 - Had a real impact.

  • Button 6.0 Looked OK in the little he had to do,although he could only feel the breeze from Austin's shot.
Wilson 5.0 Looks as though he has some ongoing problem and argued with team-mates.Has been one of our better players this season, needs to settle again and concentrate on his game.
Morrison 5.5 Why wasn't he sent forward at the end instead of Cort,he was a forward once and has shown good finishing this season.Or is Cort not trusted at the back by himself.
Cort 4.5 Very uncertain at times--he and Morrison don't always have the understanding they once had.
Wiggins 5.5 Lacked conviction going forward, under instructions not to leave a gap there? His runs forward were so fruitful last season and he's still an unkown in this division so get him involved more.Please.
Dervite 4.5 A good player away from home but I don't think I've seen a good performance at The Valley.
Pritchard 6.0 Did his best, which is more than can be said for some players. His finishing must be addressed though.
Jackson 4.5 Our Chris Waddle look-alike gives the impression he's knackered from the start. And again, what is his role? He's a better player than he has shown on the pitch recently and a good finisher, wasted taking corners,he should be in the box waiting for it.
Haynes 5.5 Play him inside left and slide the ball into him--would out-pace most defences in this division and can finish.Wasted on the wing as that's not his game.
Fuller 4.0 Poorest I've seen him.How quickly that confidence has declined from being a seasoned, worldly Prem player.
Obika 5.5 At least he refused to hoof his passes, brought the ball down, showed by example and this was roundly ignored by the other players.Could be good if we give him a chance and get the ball to him in the box.
Harriott 5.5 Play him,has tricks up his sleeve and bags of confidence.Get him to the goal-line and then pull back to Haynes or Obika.
Green 6.5 Actually seemed interested and confident.Best from him as a sub in a long while.May now be worth a starting place and must see his role as provider and sharp shooter.Again, largely unknown at this level so capitalise on it.
Seems to me the team-spirit has dropped considerably at home, noticeable how many good on-field relationships aren't there any more and it's nothing to do with the pitch, which was much better than for last week's game.
