I thought he struggled earlier in the year and he still makes mistakes, but definitely the most improved player IMO. I think in the last few games as well he's been playing a bit more committed - there was one clearance against Wolves where I could see the sinews straining in his face and neck. And I think him and Morro are starting to understand each other better. On current form I hope he stays
Met his dad in a bar in dubai .... Nice guy. Told me Dorian is very gratefull to CP and big chances he will stay to contribute to next season PL fight, albeit he s already been contacted by other clubs .He really likes the atmosphere in and around the club . Needed to play regular to come back to good level and that he usually needs few minutes to be "in" the game , that explains some difficult starts . True that, on the 8 or 9 last games his quality followed the global improvement of the team (or the contrary) . Not a simple coincidence... I think he brought technique and stability in the back.
We look just as solid with him at centre back as we did with Cort or Taylor - but he's clearly more comfortable on the ball, especially compared to Cort. Think that makes a real difference when it comes to keep possession and playing the ball out from the back. Hope he stays, young for a centre back and should continue to improve.
Yep sign him up looks a different player since about the 25th minute in the Bolton game. Another very very good bargain bin pick up for CP.
He is a relatively steady Championship CB who is comfortable on the ball and has potential to grow, definitely should be in our group of 4 CB's going into the new season.
He's not a defensive midfielder but is a good player at this level at CB. After a few games where he was in and out the side or being played out of position he's settled in and looked better for the run of games. Hopefully we'll sign him on a two year contract soon.
very good yesterday - agree he is a CB - not a midfielder - strong, good in air - don't think he is comfortable on ball personally - seems to get better as games go on though - first 10 he's prone to an error - he has all the attributes to become a top CB so I have to retract my assessment of a few months back but certainly is only a CB in my opinion.
Not sure if others mean the same but when I've said Dervite's comfortable on the ball I meant compared to Taylor and especially Cort. Neither Dervite and Morrison are great passers but they are comfortable taking that extra touch or turning their way out of trouble. When centre backs like Cort and in the past Doherty, Sodje etc got the ball they look to clear it or take the "safe" option of the long ball.
There are parallels with last season. When we signed Cort I expected him to replace Taylor pretty quickly, by MT played until our form faltered a little late in the season when Cort finally got a regular start and help get us over the line.
Again, I expected Dervite was going to displace Cort earlier this season but it took a while. He's clearly helped tighten up the defence now he's in though and we'd be silly to let him go now.
He has certainly improved a lot but still vulnerable against a mobile forward and with not the best distribution. Worth another year but I would ideally like us to sign a stronger central defender to partner Morro, if we are going to push on next season.
For the Championship he is a CB who is good on the ball and decent. There are bound to be other clubs sniffing around. Let's hope the "Chris Powell" effect works.
Sat next to him last night - everything he said pointed to him looking forward to helping us get to the play-offs. He also said that, at the start of the season he hadn't played for 7 months and that it takes quite a few matches to get sharp. Regarding his distribution, he prefers to play it out to feet but CP's instructions are often just to clear it. Ie he is playing to orders. We really enjoyed the evening and Dorian's company.

I am with you I didn't think him or mozza were any good in that opening half hr sat although he improved I didn't even consider he had a good game
Not sure why.
It'd be good if he stays.

Do agree he's a only a centre back.

100% nailed on to get a long term injury now
