Said it before and will say it again, finish in the bottom 6 but will not be playing Division One football next season.Thats good enough for me.Could go down to the last couple of games just thinking 1970-1971 again.
At the risk of being the most boring bloke in the world, we may need another 13 points to stay up.
Going back a long way the most points a team have gone down with in this Div is 52 (Leicester) and the average is high 40s. Looking at the current points of the 3rd bottom team, I believe 4th bottom will need 50 minimum this season. Only my view of course, but if we do need 12 or 13 points that is not a gimme when you consider what we have to come, particularly away.
Not boring mid_life_crisis, pertinent point, but mate, your timing to bring this information to us is bad. It's Sunday night, it's still cold out and most of us I presume are contemplating work in the morning.
Ffs can we end the weekend with positivity only please ;o)

Ok then - when we beat Millwall 5-0, we will smash through the 53 point barrier with 8 games to go ;-)
3 games ago we were 13 pts from the drop now we are 6 pts from the drop no one is cut adrift, so all 3 relegation spots are up for grabs and as mid life points out i also think that 4th bottom will need a higher number than usual for safety 10% chance of relegation atm, imo which is usually right so no need to worry yet

Agreed & I've previously said the same. This division is so tight it's possible that about 14 teams could still get relegated. We're not safe & Millwall are on the slide as well. I think it's possible a team may be relegated this season, with a record high total & I'm not expecting 50 points to keep a team up.

Had we been the ones to equalize in stoppage time on Saturday then this thread probably wouldn't be here. The outcome of the game would have been no different whatsoever though.
Teams who go down usually don't have bottle or the right attitude throughout the season - only towards the end when it really matters.
This team has showed a lot of commitment throughout the year and we've already done a lot of the hard work to give us the mid-table foundation that we have got.

55 points to make safety a more or less certainty (another 15points), probably need 3/4 wins & 4/5 draws, that should not be beyond this Charlton team, reckon we will be OK, but I must admit I was looking out for Peterboro, Bristol City and Barnsley's results on Saturday above anyone elses, couldn't believe that all 3 won.
Well, you may be pleased to know that Oddschecker has us at 9th favourite for the drop at 20-1. Millwall at 40-1 and Palace at 43-1. Bookies dont normally get it wrong !
Perhaps the 3 wins we need will be against Peterboro, Bristol City and Barnsley?
Woe betide us if we lose those!
The way this league works, we're just as likely to beat Hull, Leicester and Cardiff! After all, 2 of our meagre home wins were against Leiecester and Cardiff... and Leicester lost to Peterborough on Saturday,

If you are i will get SCP to check the boys nuts and together we will survive

We'll be fine.

Millwall just 1 point ahead of us - and on the end of a worse run of form.
Yet, according to the bookies, we are twice as likely to be relegated than Millwall.
