If you like something a little different try Charters, which is a pub on a barge. I went there last time. It does good food & drink. If I was going this time, that's where I'd be heading, without a shadow of doubt. See the link. The photo of the barge doesn't do it justice imo, it's more impressive inside & as you can see from the map, it's only a 10 min walk from the ground.

Not being funny but I'm not planning on going on a date...not with my mate and old man anyway!

It's just a boat pub. It's not fancy. I think you've got the wrong impression. It's decent & just a bit different. There were quite a lot of Charlton supporters in there last time.

Also if I read correctly, the last season before Peterborough redevelop the away end (if they stay in the championship). Make the most of the terrace while it's there!

They usually get relegated before the 3 years time limit for conversion are up. It'll probably happy again this time!

  • What's the odds on the Charlton Ultras turning up with their flares?
  • Wish this was a Saturday!
  • We're a Category B match and a 19:45 kick off, right?

    Seating:
    -Adults £23, Over 60's/Students £13, Under 16's £12
    Standing Terrace:
    -Adults £20, Over 60's/Students £13, Under 16's £10

I can get return tickets on the train for a tenner too. The last return (for me) leaves Peterboro at 21:45 which is a bit of a problem... Taxi maybe? Too tight to get back from the ground do you think?

Going to have to leave early on this one. The game will finish about 21.40, from memory your 20 minutes from the ground on foot
  • 1) About 1400 my guess.
    2) Plenty of pubs yes.

Maximum 800, town not very inspiriing
  • Can have a good scrap down there an all history dictates a good tear up

No point changing the last few away days and taking a way the enjoyment of our new breed of fans

Made me chuckle, where do I sign up?

Think I'll stay at home and have a nice cup of tea then.

15/20 minutes walk, will be aiming for the 22:16 as well and should have time to also pick up a snack or couple of cans.

nice one cheers mate. Gonna sort this one out tomorrow with maybe a half day and get up there early.
  • Looking at the train times, there's a train at 03:25, which arrives at Kings Cross 05:00. Perfect for Charlton anorak cred, a night out and being the first to arrive at the office :-)

I can't make this game, but the Oakham Brewery Tap is excellent, great Oakham ales, but with a younger crowd that the usual ale havens.

About a mile. You can find route and calculate distance here:

  • A 90 mile straight drive down the Lincolnshire prarie for me. Let's hope for a repeat of the 5-1 .. on that note, it would be nice if we still had Lee Martin in the team (MOM last time we were there)
  • I'm getting £26 rtn from Kings Cross. Last train back at 23:45 arriving Kings X at 01:03. Cab home!
