Want to take my son on a day out and Huddersfield is the chosen game, 9th MARCH has anyone purchased cheap tickets yet and does anyone have a good link. cheers
Try trainline.com first and see what the discount is with a friends and family rail card. If the discount is more than £25 then apply for one of those and book your tickets
just tried national rail enquiries with a family and friends railcard for 3 adults and 3 kids £204 seems very pricing .
Huddersfield away last season was £80-95p for one adult & one child on a family railcard, paying on the day. It's one of the more expensive away trips. (Carlisle was only £7 dearer). Go for the cheap tickets if you don't mind being restricted to a particular train.

Got a Megaplus deal up there for £13 at fairly late notice last year, then just booked a train from Wakefield coming back.
Ended up alright, even if we did miss our train to Wakefield, try catch it in a taxi, end up in Doncaster then drunkenly got ourselves out of £100+ penalty fares.

still coming out pricey, have we left it too late Elfsborg or is it just a expensive trip
£26 return is the cheapest, if available, through eastcoast. However, with megabus you need to check each day until they become availabe, through megabus it can be a combination of train then coach. Not sure about the return leg.
Here we go - trainspotter time - London Mid to Stafford 0846 a good bet, Cross Country Trains to Manc Piccadilly then Northern Rail to Huddersfield - bit long winded but cheap and don't have to pre book.

For Hull, wait and see if they're in the 5th round. They have a replay at Orient next.
1 adult and 1 child booked on Southeastern railway site is £87.15 return from Charlton with a family & friends railcard
