Started raining about 7.00 o'clock in Woking on my way home to Baughurst. When i got to Basingstoke there was nice layer of snow.
The local bus driver back said he was taking his time which was fine by me. Up at 6 to go to work and most of it had gone but a stack of puddles about.
The drive home from The Valley to rural Wiltshire was “interesting”.
Started snowing near Basingstoke and by the time we were a bit further on it was very heavy and settling. The last 20 miles, over downs and plains, and despite the roads being empty, took over an hour as we slid around corners and down hills.
We've not had that much snow in S.E.London for a good few years. Beast from the East was the last time we had anything you could call snow (ie.....didnt melt during the day & you could go sledging)
Seems we’ve lost the snow for the time being but it’s cold. We’re expecting -8 overnight for the next few nights. The snow is now rock hard ice. As far as possible I won’t be venturing far.

I wouldn’t have thought that anyone would want to go out and play cricket to slag off the opposition in this weather?

Oh, it’s stopped.
