Just had to collect my son after his work van got trapped in. His boss was an arse about it though, telling him he could't leave the van in case someone nicks it. Nicks it??? ~ He could't shift it himself!
what's happened to the good old British postie ?? Supposedly out in all weathers in just a t-shirt & shorts, but I've not had any post all week & it was my birthday yesterday.........no cards, no nothing (and I've been assured by my mother that she posted it last weekend).
The Fire Brigade rescuing a dog in Barnet. With all the other problems they have to deal with, it's shame that owners can't keep their dogs under control near frozen ponds and streams.
Kent has had a few very quiet days. Hardly any calls going through our control but people are idiots, when we were out Tuesday morning getting stuck cars out of the snow their owners all seemed to be driving to get a paper or milk, which they thought were essential journeys.

Not just the posties. Had a DHL Email, 'we tried to deliver but no one was at home'. Told them they're a bunch of liars as three of us were at home and unless their delivery driver has a hovver board, he's been no where near our postbox. Sent with a photo of nothing but virgin snow within 15 feet of the postbox.
The man who died at Danson Park yesterday hadn't, after all, been walking a dog or tried to rescue another person's animal but fell into lake. Emergency crews pulled him from the water but he was pronounced dead in hospital. Just demonstrates the dangers of walking on ice and a lesson to everyone especially kids who may be oblivious to it.

Someone on here who knows him confirmed the poor Bloke was saving his dog.
It's annoying predictable. Red alerts for much of the West Country, yet still you get stories about loads of cars stuck in the snow on the A38 and A30. They were warned FFS...

Cheap day out for you at last
I had the laptop set up on the table at the back of the house and it was so lovely to hear them screaming with laughter playing in the snow.
Delighted to get us all home in one piece.
