All keepers make mistakes as do all players from time to time. Hamer is getting better and better and will either be at the club as #1 for the next few seasons or will be sold on a vast profit to a prem team.
Nervous Nerys from only fools and horses was on show first half tonight, until he made a good save at the start of the 2nd half. Then the confidence came back. All in the head.

More than any other keeper I remember Hamer goes through these weird phases of unshakeable confidence and nervous apprehension, one good save or dodgy call sets the tone... until the next time. Tonight he made one good save, went into super confident mode and then pulled off some outstanding stops to keep us in the game. Love the guy.
I thought Hamer was very tidy last night. I don't understand the criticiscm of him and think people just like trying to find shortcomings in the team rather than enjoying a great period for our club. Of course our team aren't flawless and if they were, they'd be playing in the Premier League.
Hamer did have a good overall game last night and I see him having improved immensely from last season BUT I do think his communication with the defence can be a bit iffy. A couple of times last night I had heart-stopping moments as he was slow to come out to collect the ball and I think Cort had to clear it at the last moment into the stands when Ben should have scooped up. But some brilliant saves too including a finger-tip over the bar in the first half. I wouldn't change him right now and he will only get better. Worldy!!

Will only improve and will play in the Prem.(with Charlton) in a few years. He's still young for a keeper. C.P. said last season his distribution was as good as any keeper he had seen.
Because he actually catches quite a lot and keeps possession in doing some people don't notice. I'd rather he did that than pointlessly tip shots over and round the post.
I must have been watching a different game last night as all I saw was Hamer not knowing whether to punch or catch for the first 20 minutes. He frightens the life out of me everytime a cross is whipped in so he must make the back four feel nervous too. Great shot stopper though - just needs a lot of help with balls in the air - Also he did jump under the cross that led to the Huddersfield equaliser too.

Just think how many mistakes Joe Hart, or De Gea, or Petr Cech have made this season alone.
All keepers will make an odd mistake, no matter what class they are or league, divison, they play in.
I'm glad we have Ben, and wouldn't want to change that.
The answer is no different this season.
That answer your question?
Showed again tonight how reliable he is, especially with the more awkward shots that come at pace.
I thought the one going down low to his right was a definite goal. Very good save.
