Semedo returns trophy

  • Classy , I was more intrigued with theses comments...

Of course, it could serve as a distraction from Wednesday's current position just above the relegation zone. However, Dave Jones said after Saturday's match, 'There's no one in this division who's any better than us.

Sounds like he got a dose of the 'Deluded Wendies'

Forget the frimponged comment unless we extend the loan :-( shame
  • Am I the only one who finds that really discourteous and disrespectful? We may not be his first love but he could have just kept the trophy in a cupboard under the stairs or something. To me he's telling us he would rather forget his time here and for that I will no longer applaud him whenever he returns to The Valley.

Devils advocate here but......I'm pretty certain he's returned the trophy as he should have returned it a lot earlier. You get a little 'Player of the year' thing for yourself and of course the main trophy which is the club's.
Chris Solly is being presented on Saturday with the trophy for LAST SEASON not the season before. At least that's what I read out in the link when I filmed the Preview Show for CAFCPlayer this afternoon!
Pretty sure some wires have been crossed

Well Jose you were far from our best player anyway. Just some dick that a lot of people liked a stupid song they sang about you. That's about the sum of it.

The fact it's being handed to Solly on Saturday suggests he should have sent it back earlier! He said he was very happy at Charlton, can't we just focus on that and all move on?

    Didn't deserve it anyway.

Can confirm you have that correct, Olly.

Many months after Ian Wallis requested that said Cup be returned for presentation to the 2011-12 POTY, it finally arrived. Allegedly, it spent a lovely holiday in Portugal before it was sent back ...

Thanks should go to Chris Parkes ( and Ian ) for their tenacity in retrieving it.

It will be presented on Saturday by a young lady who won the honour in the POTY raffle and who has been patiently waiting since early August to perform the handover.

Thank gawd for that. Ian Wallis's blood pressure will have dropped considerably now.
  • The POTY cup is given to the winner along with a trophey, that the winner gets to keep. The cup has the names of the previous winners on it.

I didn't rate him as the best to be honest. I thought Racon was a lot better.. however Semedo showed more passion whilst wearing the badge. But hey ho. He's shown himself up here. Lost ALL respect.

Haha wanker, you didn't even win tin pot 1 or league 1 as it's called. And you're going back down. You were the best player in our worst team ever, says it all.

Hold on guys, all he's done is return a trophy he was asked to return.

    No disrespect to Charlton.

His only crime was to keep it too long

Runner up two years ago and winner last year.

  • He clearly cherished it so much from his wonderful time here he just didn't want to give it back. ; )
