I looked on their website & there's no mention. Nor The Queen Victoria. However, according to the fans site The Talbot has a large TV screen, but how large is large & is it still there ? :-)
I'm really looking forward to this one. Up on the train to see my daughter in Manchester on Friday lunchtime and then meeting a couple of old uni mates ( one Burnley, the other Rochdale ) for a night out in Manchester. We're staying over at my mate's place in Rainhill on Friday night and then travelling over to Burnley on Saturday morning.
A new ground for me and one with a lot of heritage, although it's obviously changed a lot in recent years. I'm afraid I won't be swelling the 314 strong away tickets sold thus far, as I'll be 10 or 11 rows up on the halfway line in somewhere called the James Hargreaves Stand.
It's over 50 years ago now, but a great achievement by Burnley in winning the League Championship in 1960 ( followed two years later by Ipswich Town ) - those were the days. Ditto Derby and Forest in the 70s.
OK - to set the record straight, this has NOTHING to do with that esteemed group of fantastic supporters AKA NWKers , 3 of whom I happen to travel with on a regular basis.
Being a non driver, I am the designated tea lady and bring along an ENORMOUS flask BUT it has never entered a football stadium. Said flask resides in a "lucky" red bag and the amber liquid is consumed in the comfort & warmth of the car , aiming to warm the cockles prior to stepping out into the wastelands of such places as Sheffield & Bolton..
I have NEVER taken a blanket to a football match ( well, not yet) as this would undoubtedly become dangerously entangled in my pins when I leapt from my seat to celebrate a goal for the Reds. Elf & safety regs should dictate that blankets should be banned from The Valley IMHO.
Hope that clarifies the situation for all the young 'uns out there .
And for those of us in our twilight years , I'm thinking " Thermos, blanket, OAP Army "
Turf moor first ground I ever went to. 1971, with my older cousins. Enjoyed the swearing, tho got grassed up to Ma & Pa. Think it was v Spurs. 0-0 boredraw. Put me off as I thought it'd be like MOTD.

Last one we won 1-0 and I missed the only goal (Paddy Powell if I remember) as I was 'utilising the facilities' at the time.
We're on a roll, man!
