My granddad was an Arsenal fan, but vowed never to see them again once they moved north (despite, himself moving the family north of the river). From that point on our family have all been Charlton.
My two kids are both Addicks. I found the secret when they were little was never to mention the other team. We just went to watch Charlton, whoever the other team was, was irrelevant.
Grandad was at both cup finals and at the valley every home game, minim a charllton fan.my dad had no interest in football ,ex wife made my son a Liverpool fan when we split son only knew team he supported played on red
Mum's side were all West Ham. Dad wasn't really into football but had a soft spot for Brentford (he's into Charlton now though). I went to primary school in Shooters Hill and tagged along to the Valley with a m8 of mine and his dad. Have been hooked ever since. I have 4 sons who all like Charlton but living in California means their allegences often lay elsewhere (baseball). They always come to the games with me when we visit though so they are Charlton fans. Brother posts on here and Brother-in-law, nieces and nephews are all season ticket holders.
