Well his agent is calling him the next Ian Wright. Not sure about that, but he has scored 35 in 30 games this season for Dulwich Hamlett. And as many of the CIFC lads will know, it's not the best surface in the world!
One of my customers are Dulwich Hamlet (u18's) the Manager told me today,Dickson has pace to burn and is extremely raw,he compared him to a young Ian Wright, let's hope so.

I guess any goalscorer coming from Dulwich Hamlet will be compared to Wright as that was the club Palace signed him from. Ryman League One is level 4 of non league so 7 leagues below us. big jump up but let's hope he makes it.

wright signed from greenwich borough. they had spotted him playing sunday football (on their pitch they used saturday but hired out on sunday) against walker sports (who had mark penfold playing for them at the time).
he only played a few games for greenwich borough before they contacted palace about him. a deal took place within a matter of weeks.
i seem to remember they did contact us aswell but we refused to even look at him because of his age.(i may be corrected on that as i'm sure no-one at cafc would ever admit to it).
david whyte also played for greenwich borough.

I think this Carl Leaburn's old club side...
Rumour has it Charlton did look at him and decided not to sign him/offer him a trial.
he did.Remember F A YOUTH CUP FINAL 1987 LEABURN,BENNETT GORDON WATSON MINTO.Did anyone else go drew at Craphurst Park and I think we lost second leg 2-1 i think.'
An experienced Charlton side punished Fulham for some defensive lapses on a night where Ray Lewington and Billy McKinlay’s side were simply overpowered.
Fulham, once again, had a very young side on view, but for the fans who made the trip to Motspur Park, they were able to witness a promising performance from Clint Dempsey; the American playing the full 90 minutes. In contrast, Charlton fielded a number of players familiar to Premiership action, with Kevin Lisbie, Souleymane Diawara and Bryan Hughes among those starting.
An energetic start for Fulham, in which Dempsey showed a few nice touches, was brought to an abrupt halt as Charlton scored after just seven minutes. A slicing pass by Chinese international Zheng Zhi bisected the Fulham defence and put Kevin Lisbie momentarily in the clear. With TJ Moncur doing well to recover, Lisbie looked to his right and played a square ball to Chris Dickson, unmarked just inside the six yard box, and the striker had the simple task of side footing the ball high into the Fulham goal; Corrin Brooks-Meade had no chance.
Before Fulham had the chance to regroup the Addicks went 2-0 ahead. A long diagonal ball was hit down the left channel, Whites right back, Lewis Cumber, attempted to shadow the ball out of play but was robbed by Nathan Ashton. Ashton’s cross found Lisbie whose deflected shot fell to Dickson who applied a simple finish from 12 yards out.
The Whites seemed visibly shocked by the double sucker punch and had to be on guard for a 10 minute spell as Charlton poured forward in numbers seeking more goals. It wasn’t until the 24th minute that the Whites had a clear effort on goal, a fizzing right foot strike by Lino Goncalves which had Darren Randolph well beaten but unfortunately it beat the far post as well.
Fulham grew in confidence as the half went on and a visibly more solid back line meant that there was increased confidence in midfield to push further forward and impose more of an attacking threat. Goncalves showed good trickery and some telling crosses, which the Charlton defence had to be alert to. It was Fulham that finished the half in stronger fashion.
Unfortunately the start of the second half followed the same path as the first; it was Fulham who made the first inroads but Charlton who made the breakthrough. With Fulham failing to clear, Myles Weston slipped in to slide the ball beyond Brooks-Meade to seemingly put the game beyond the Whites.
Despite the 3-0 scoreline, Fulham continued to press and should have pulled a goal back when a lay off by Dempsey into the path of Wayne Brown was ballooned over the bar by the youngster.
With seven minutes remaining in the game, Fulham eventually got the goal they were working so hard to attain. A jinking run from Dempsey was brought to a halt by a scything tackle by Aswad Thomas. Ismael Ehui had no hesitation as he picked up the ball, yet his penalty was less than precise and Randolph parried the ball. Thankfully it fell into the path of Brown who tucked home.
The final word in the match came from Lisbie; having missed a glorious chance on Saturday which would have given Charlton three points against fellow strugglers Watford, he made no mistake in the dying moments as he helped himself to a quick fire brace to compound a bad evening for Fulham’s second string.

I stand corrected. Who did they sign from Dulwich then? Was it Pardew?
Anyway, two goals for the reserves. Let's hope he can keep that up.
Can't remember who Palace signed from Dulwich but Peter Crouch had a spell there and Marlon King of Watford was with Dulwich at the start of his career.
I used to live five minute's walk from the ground so went there quite a few times. Carl Asaba was another player there. Saw an amazing 6-6 draw with Bognor Regis Town once.
Charlton's most successful signing from non-league in the past 20 must be Paul Williams IMO.

andy gray played for dulwich hamlet, but whether he went from the to palace i don't know.
Dave Martin, the lad we signed from Dartford, played the last half hour against Luton. He played very well and has a sweet left foot. This is always the sort of player i like to see Palace sign as we always seem to get more from lads with a point to prove.
We Just need him, Moses and bostock in the team and we might actually do something over the next couple of seasons.

Was impressed when i saw the Moses lad, he looked like he could perform miracles....
Hasn't Martin got his own scaffolding company ? 'Sorry gaffer can't play Saturday, we've got a big contract down at Bluewater....'

Can't wait for him to get involved in the first team with Darren.
Bent Dickson the pitch
He was a prolific non league striker (Gravesend And Northfleet) who unsuccessfully had a trial in the nineties when we were a "second" division club.
Paul Gorman was another although in fairness he did score a few goals for us.
No harm in looking at the guy though just in case he slipped through all the scouts' nets.
Well that's one potential positive.
Pace is vital these days.
Where's Jonathon Ackworth when you need him.

Perhaps it was in our Selhurst days thinking about it.

i'm pretty sure leaburn came through the youth team when they played in the south-east counties league.
Steve Portway. Now there is a name from the past. Remember seeing him a couple of times for the ressies.
Paul Gorman manages in the Kent League now, i believe.
SuperKev is back. We've a ready made replacment for when Darren Bent gets sold......
I saw the trialist Chris Dickson scored 2.
