Players Marks: Charlton v Middlesborough

  • Hamer - 6 ridiculous to say he was at fault for any of those goals. Made a couple of decent saves. Let down by his defence.
Solly - 6 You know what you are getting with Solly but sticking him on the right wing at the end was desperate.
Cort - 5 Defended well in parts but did not do much else.
Morrison - 6 Massive howler for their 2nd and he had his heart on his sleeve when they scored it.
Kerkar - 5 Out of position and 3 particularly bad crosses in the second half.
Wilson - 6 Doing OK up until he got crocked.
Pritchard - 6 Did OK in 1st half but not a winger hence the disappearance in the 2nd.
Dervite - 4 Part of the crumbling midfield. Gave the ball away cheaply. Guilty of not looking up when passing.
Jackson - 4 Lack of pace can be forgiven if you use the ball well. He did not.
Hulse - 6 Cracking goal, but lacked decent service feeding off scraps from balls pumped down field.
Wright Phillips - 5 Put himself about but was ineffective overall. BWP and Pritch both need to get the right frigging boots on!
Stephens - 4 Poor. One particular moment in the second half where he was going to let a ball roll out for a throw in their half instead kept it in and gave it away for a Boro chance.

Tactics and too many individual errors cost us a heavy defeat and could have been a lot more had Boro been a touch luckier in front of goal.

  • Sorry chris but u got things very wrong with your player selection. stop playing people out of position ! Team looked all over the place 2nd half. Stop just lumping up to the CF and start passing it.

  • Hamer 6 - There were perhaps a couple of goals where he could've done better, but also a couple of good saves.
Solly 5 - Poor by his standards. At fault for fourth goal.
Cort 6 - Bizzare decision to sub him when he was our best defender. No wonder Boro ran riot when he went off.
Morrison 5 - Again, poor by his standards. At fault for second goal.
Kerkar 6 - Did well considering he was out of position. Put in some good crosses, but also some rubbish ones!
Wilson 7 - Shame he went off injured at half-time. We really missed him.
    Pritchard 7 - Running everywhere, as usual - a real hard-worker.
Dervite 6 - Was doing reasonably well until he had to cover for Cort's absence.
Jackson - 5 Doesn't add much to the team at this level, apart from at set-pieces.
Hulse 6- Took his goal well, but also missed a couple of sitters in the 1st half.
Wright Phillips 4 - Out of his depth - can't score, can't hold the ball up, can't lay the ball off.
Stephens 5 - Disappointing. Seemed to stroll around like it was a training session.

  • Hamer 4 stopped little, wandering for the third
Solly 4 poor game, asleep for the fourth
    Cort 5 .5 won a few headers
    Morrison 5 daft error
Kerkar 7 tricky and worked well out of position
    Wilson 6.5 more effing injuries
    Pritchard 3 out of depth
Dervite 3 very low profile for a big guy
Jackson 5 constantly out of position, extra point for assist
Hulse 6 took shot well and caused problems
    Wright Phillips 4 not great
Stephens 3 gave it away constantly

  • Hamer - 8 Lots of good saves and catches. No real chance with any of the goals. Not his fault that Cort decided to leave a straight ball down the middle. Can't be expected to be stood on his line like a playground goalie!
Solly - 5.5 Wasn't very good but 4th goal was a mis-hit shot that caught him out.
Cort - 5.5 His worst game for the club. Missed a header from 3 yards and wasn't as dominant as usual. Bad mistake for 3rd goal.
Morrison - 5 Made a mistake but it happens. Looked like he was picking up Woodgate in 2nd half...wonder if that was a change from the 1st half?
Kerkar - 6 Had the beating of Bailey in the 2nd half (did him 3 times in 10 minutes) but only one good cross across the face of goal. Lots of Mortimer-like dribbling skills but little end product. Tried very hard. Time for a go in CM?
Wilson - 6 Didn't think he was as good as some but he was missed 2nd half.
Pritchard - 6.5 Looked very bright in the 1st half. I think there are goals in him but maybe not yet at this level.
Dervite - 5 Does look as though he can see a pass but can't believe he's a centre-back. About as good in the air as Kerkar.
Jackson - 5 Had a decent effort blocked in the 2nd half and is still one of our bigger goal threats. Got to stop using him as a LM though.
Hulse - 6 Great goal and some decent little knocks through. Not all that good in the air.
Wright Phillips - 6 Does work so hard but it's not going for him. Last season he would have blasted that shot into the bottom corner (at 1-1)
Stephens - 5 Perhaps we supporters don't understand the role he's been given but he seems to be very restricted on where he goes on the pitch. Played into Boro's hands by slowing the game down.
  • Hamer - 6 Decent save at the end, but let down by poor marking, especially first goal.
Solly - 6 Can never fault his effort, but seen him play a lot better!
Cort - 5 Not great but suprised he was taken off.
Morrison - 5 Worst game I've seen him play for Charlton, normally so solid. Please pass to our players!
Kerkar - 4 Not the answer, awful crossing, gives the ball away far too much.
Wilson - 7 Our best player while he was on, awful tackle by their number 4. Probably bought on his injury.
Pritchard - 4 Poor header early on, should have scored. We need more than a good runner, far too lightweight.
Dervite - 4 Didn't see him do anything worthwhile.
Jackson - 4 Another poor game, shame for a good clubman.
Hulse - 6 Liked his goal, but should have scored with first half header, how we miss Yann!
Wright Phillips - 5 Wrong studs, much better last season, is this a div too high?
Stephens - 6 Difficult to come on at half time, poor passes but definately better than Bradley Pritchard imo!

    Solly - 6
Cort 5 - Lost woodgate for 1st goal
    Morrison 5 - fault for 2nd
Kerkar 7 - played LB out of position and did well, covered the whole flank by himself because jacko drifts in constantly offering no support.
    Wilson - 6
Pritchard - 6 did very well in middle but putting him out wide was big mistake as he offers nothing there.
Dervite 6.5 - played well again continually sweeping up play in front of back four.
Jackson - 2 too slow and offers nothing.
Hulse - 7 good goal and won alot of headers.
    BWP- 5 emmmm
Stephans 1 - ruined the game when coming on, can't pass tackle or shoot.

  • Hamer 5 - at fault for the lob - off his line
Solly 7 - solid as ever
    Cort 6 - is Cort
Morrison 6 - bit of a mistake - but allowed one occasionally
Kerkar 6.5 - ran his socks off
    Wilson 7 - looked a real threat - hope he's back soon
Pritchard 7 - technically very good and vision is there - but lightweight
    Dervite 6 - did well - missing a bit
    Jackson 5 - terrible - too slow
Hulse 6 - good goal and ran around a lot. Poor service to him/BWP.
Wright Phillips 6 - lots of endeavour - no real threat but lacking service from midfield
Stephens 6 - looked clever (maybe too clever)

  • Hamer - 6 - Exposed for all of the goals, by a poor defensive performance. When we needed urgent release of the ball he stood there shouting at the defence, save that for the dressing room.
Solly - 5 - Poor performance, caught out regularly on the inside as too far away from the centre backs.
Cort - 4.5 - Terrible form Cort, not expected as has been a rock. Should have closed down on the second goal, but just let him run in on Hamer, terrible miss from a corner.
Morrison - 4.5 - As bad a Cort and again not expected as he's been so good, poor passing resulting in a goal.
Kerkar - 5 - Not a left back, comical attempts at heading, crossing mostly very poor.
Wilson - 6 - Looked good, until two terrible tackles injured him. 'Friend' should have gone.
Pritchard - 4.5 - Too weak on the ball, but hassled well. Why do our midfiled never win knock downs or defensive headers from our defence.
    Dervite - 4 - As above
    Jackson - 4 - As Pritchard
Hulse - 6 - Good goal and put himself about (MOM)
Wright Phillips - 5 - Bullied off the ball a lot, missed a couple of good chances, needs a goal, but will not do that from the bench or by being taken off.
Stephens - 4 - As Pritchard, but put in a couple of good tackles. Passing too slow.

Cook n/a - did nothing of note.
Haynes n/a - livened things up but missed a good chance at the end, finishing not his strong point?
  • HAMER- 6 not much help infront of him , bad position for lob
SOLLY- 6 just above average because he is quality, but not his best
CORT- 5 been excellent since being in the team didnt command as usual
MORRO- 4 very bad day, positionally, on the ball ,decisions.
KERKAR- 5 obviously not his position, quality of crosses let him down
WILSON- 6 good until he got injured, improving every game
PRITCHARD-4 if based on effort -7, but not cutting it yet.championship requires quality aswell
DERVITE 5 did ok without particularly impressing
JACKSON- OH DEAR!!! too slow, just not good enough, like him , but one div. above his standard, scp being too loyal
HULSE- 6 did ok considering he was up front on his own, good goal
WRIGHT-PHILLIPS-2 he is not better than shaun, cannot pass, cannot control, cannot stand up,cannot score. inaffective, like jacko div 1 at best.just not good enough no excuses!!!!
STEPHENS- 5 becoming our marmite player, i like him but needs to move the ball quicker, not that good yesterday

chrissy powell- 3 , bad decisions ,tactics and formation. not saying get rid but needs to take a look at himself 1st

  • Are you two the same person ? 1 for Stephens is ridiculous .

He was awful, he had so many miss placed passes, he never won the ball once and was slow, only reason he got a 1 rating was because he managed 1 or 2 sideway passes. Sorry if you think it's ridiculous but you have to do your job and he didn't in the slightest.

    Dervite - 6
Jackson - 5 (ponderous, often out of position missed a great chance)
    Hulse - 6
Wright Phillips - 5.5 (didn't get a lot of service, worked hard)
Stephens - 5 (two great defensive tackles but gave the ball away cheaply and as our recognised!! playmaker lacked vision)
