Tough one this especially if Evina is out,we will be forced to play our best player (Solly) out of position and push Wilson back where he is less effective. Don't like to say this but I can only see the best result for us as a draw but my head is telling me a win for Middlesborough maybe 1-0.
We really need to get the three points, and with the improved confidence coming from good performances on the road, I think we will nick a tight game 2-1. If Fuller is fit I would expect a continuation of 4-5-1 but if not, Chris Powell might judge that (except for the injured Yann) none of our other strikers are good enough to play the lone striker role and go for 4-4-2 with Hulse and BWP paired up front.
Odd one this. Would fancy us against Boro with last years XI who I think would give them a game.
But given our morale and league position it isn't the case. CP has a team showing a bit of grit & determination so he will not likely change it. And we wouldn't blame him.
I honestly don't think there is a problem with morale in the team Jarman. Despite our current league position.
The last two battling away performances proved that.
Bailey was a good fighting player amongst a poor set of players and he was too expensive and had to go. Deserves respect in my opinion. Hulse is a good player and fit and a better option than any other if he is the lone striker; someone in midfield like wilson has to penetrate further than in the last home game as simply putting floaters into the box wont be enough.
Imagine Solly will go back to left back and Wilson back to right back unfortunately. We really need to pick up 3 points in this game but with no riccy or evina I'm going for 1-1
We're badly hit by injuries. Hope Chris can put out a good team - I'm sure whoever pulls on the red shirts will put in a battling performance, but will we have enough quality to beat 'boro?
Hope we can get a draw or maybe nick it by a single goal.
Absolute crap. Very confident he would have stayed at Charlton if we had been promoted that year. Infact, I think there's a good chance he would have wanted to stay even if we could have afforded to keep him.
We needed to get rid and could not believe how much Boro offered for him, other offers were only £750,000. Not my favourite player, but he cannot be accused of being greedy
Hope im wrong but charlton 1 middlesbrough 4 bailey will run the show for boro and after ceddys injury news we will be lopsided again if solly has to go left back! Also im going and was
Will be well annoyed if anyone boos Bailey. I can remember the North stand singing about wanting him to shag their missus so they could have ginger kids!
If Evina's injured, who normally plays right wing for Boro ?
If its pacy, then its back to Solly at left back. If not, i'd stick Jacko there, go two in the middle, and bring BWP back in up top with Hulse.
I'll give Bailey a clap, put in a decent shift for us. I'll also have a chuckle once he does his first dive / exagerrated injury, gets into verbals with one of our players, and all those who were clapping him start booing him and calling him allsorts :-)
We really need a win, I hope it happens tomorrow. My record at the Valley isn't great when I've been over here, I'm due to see a home win so I'm going to go with a 2-1 win. We seem to be getting a real kick in nuts with Injuries at the moment. Evina if out is a big loss. I dont know how CP is going to line us up for this. JJ to left back and Holland to come back into the Middle? Or Solly to come over, Wilson to drop into RB, and Green to RM? Id rather JJ to left back and keep the balance we've had the last 2 games.
I'm expecting Saturday to be the first of 2 defeats in 4 days, anything more from either game will be a bonus. Bristol City away will be a much more winnable game...
I believe the point of having a bench of substitutes is that you are allowed to let them onto the pitch at some point? The clue is in the word "substitute".
We tend to thrive as underdogs and rarely win when we have the favourite's tag. Going for 1-0 home win or 1-1 with a positive start followed by nailbiting under the kosh final 30 minutes where we just about hang on or concede in the dying minute(s)...

As Redmidland said, this is where we start WINNING at The Valley .
BTW - anyone considering whether the Evina "injury" could be part of a cunning plan to lull Boro into a false sense of security ?
No, didn't think so !!!

Clive mendonca to score in the first half, Phil Stamp to equalise in the 2nd half.
