Hate to say this, but the atmosphere was once again very very flat at a price promotion day. It may fill the ground, but does nothing else as the players seem to choke with the expectation to perform well. All price promotions do is bring in tourist fans who don't really know the team or are even Charlton fan at all. Why not save the promotions for the League or even thr FA Cup in Jan.
By the way the game was not a great advert for Charlton and our midfield was very unbalanced and a couple (no names but we all know who they are) are clearly out of their depths. Razak is a great prospect for the future with City, but didn't deserve his place today.
What do others think of the price promotion?

That's just football for you.
The atmosphere was a little flat, but we didn't out perform the opposition like we did in League One.
If you are going to make such condescending comments, have the decency to check your facts!
How anyone can suggest that it didn't/doesn't work is laughable. Nothing the price promotion can do about the result.
Long may it continue.
So yeah, it works.
Remember 10,000 £5 tickets is only 2,500 £20 tickets, so I expect most of the revenue we gain is from merchandise etc.
Of course there's always going to be a number of freeloaders that don't come back, but I reckon that somewhere in that crowd will be a handful that get hooked. Good luck to them.
Did anyone else see the Chelsea nutter in the North Lower before the game? Shouting at the tv, oblivious to the fact that he was the only one who gave a toss about it.
What to do though?

Unless we ban prawn sandwiches into the ground?
