But he did say "we was bad". Sometimes teams dominate, yet lose (eg CAFC v Watford) sometimes they nick an undeserved point or three. The fact is, any successful team is only successful because they cash in on good performances and convert a good percentage of their bad performances into results. We were shit today, but that penno was stonewall and may have given us an undeserved point. We've had far too many bad decisions on major incidents this season already.

Teams dominate yet lose?? Watford were all over us in first half and second Half we had possession yet created nothing
Barnsley played well and their midfield made many more penetrative runs than ours did. Didn't deserve to win and in general a hugely disappointing performance!!

Ok, so don't use the Watford game as the example then. That's not the point. Pick a game from memory. It sometimes happens and we all know that.
From the East Stand, def a pen and probably a red. Kerker was being constantly fouled. Very poor ref. Also was the ball over the line at the end? Looked close. Poor performance but did Ha mer make a save? One shot on target for them and six for us. Should never have lost.
Gammysnr at diff game to me. Barnsley by far better side, not a pen, no way did we have six shots on target, half that at best. Very poor. 4 goals in 6 home games says it all.

Ok what game on recent memory have we DOMINATED and not won in recent memory??
Very churlish to blame the ref,we were outplayed by an average Championship team.Big worry if our home form continues as it is.But knowing Charlton we will probably get something at Leeds or Wolves.

I don't understand how you can misread the point of a post this much. Do you really believe that no team has ever lost a game that they dominated?
Best refereeing performance I can remember. Just because you don't get every decision doesn't make it a poor display. The tackle on Solly that I assume has started this thread was excellent. He rightly booked Wilson for diving at the end, brought the ball back to the right place for every free-kick and showed common sense in booking Solly when we have had plenty who would have flourished the red. Sorry, but I completely disagree.
That won't make it a poor refereeing display either! We can't blame the ref every time we lose a game. The game flowed and he called all the big decisions right as far as I am concerned for both sides.
Shouldn't need a ref good or bad. 26000 home crowd. Off back of a away win we should show more cojones. I believe we are bottom 5 team atm do not see a way out.
Seemed a bit double standards to me by the ref. The penalty was maybe debatable, looked definite to me though, but a Charlton player could make a challenge and get pulled up for it, ten seconds later Barnsley make an identical challenge and not a peep. I don't expect any ref to get every single decision correct but a little consistency would be nice thanks very much.
I didn't think the ref was that bad actually. He tried to keep the game flowing with some advantages and did well not to send Solly off when he went in late on one of theirs after he'd been booked.
Didn't have a good view of the "penalty", but he seemed well placed and pointed to the ball, so he clearly felt their guy had played it. Mind you, the booking of Wilson for diving was a shocker - he definitely got caught.
Overall I can honestly say that the ref was the least of my worries as I was sat there.

Stephens two shots / crosses tipped over on target (37.36 & 43.09), Razak free kick saved (44.00), Stephens shot saved (49.46), Pritchard shot saved (88.25), Jackson shot saved (when the keeper dropped the ball and clawed it back)(90 +1.45). My report makes that 6, not including blocked shots as I categorise them differently for my company. Have a laugh at the BBC report - <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19939711" Barnsley dominated from start to finish, peppered the Charlton goal, Charlton had no shots in the first half only a Dale Stephens free kick (well he had two pushed over and Razak had a free kick saved). And the best one 'Charlton have failed to win any of their last five matches (I think the words 'at home' have been missed out). I would have got sacked for that report!!

Agree with most of that.
Thought the bloke got the ball for the 'penalty' - although the TV replays may prove differently - and Solly could easily have got a red towards the end.

For anyone thinking that the ref is stealing a living should have a look at our centre midfield

Can't argue with the facts.
