Palace fan at work came in my office today boasting about getting over 20,000 and saying there wasen't a seat to be had and little Charlton wouldn't get a gate like that against Burnley (Who only bought 400 so he says?) then I reminded him it was kids for a quid and there next home gate will be 12,000 like it has been all season!! FCUKING CRANKS!!
Why didn't you just remind him of the 25,000 we had against Stevenage last year, in LEAGUE ONE.
Fucking hell, someone tell me that article is a wind up.
They really do lack any kind of self awareness.
They genuinely believe that by having a load of spotty Surrey youths poorly imitating a longstanding Italian culture they are at the vanguard of some kind of massive cultural revolution. It's like watching a middle aged accountant from Dorking having a mid life crisis and deciding to become a Rastafarian.
You'd struggle to find a bigger bunch of utter fuckwits anywhere in the world.

You know the guy writing that is some spotty little geeky keyboard warrior.
Honestly they are a bunch of complete losers. Making alliances with other ultras round Europe? Come off it, having a beer with other fans while on holiday in Marbella does not mean you build foreign alliances. A real ultra group would find them embarassing, like we do. They scrawl CPFC on a tiny banner and think it is fan art like everywhere else in Europe, it's a joke. I'm sure others on this board who have watched matches in Italy, Germany, Poland etc can safely say they are on no level to deem themselves ultras.
I continue to be amazed by their complete disregard for selfawareness, " sharp dressed" I recall on my last Selhurst trip being offered out by a skinny bloke dressed by George at Asda who was wearing, and I jest you not, one glove "Jackson stylee" I was unable to fight or run through laughter and he then sauntered off.
"spend all week learning the words fo a song" FFs they all go woahhhwoaahwoah rythmic clap" they created noise at the Valley the other month but not an atmosphere.
They are and continue to be a parody of a football club, and lastly as we head to November, I hope they remember, " you should never approach a firework, even if it has gone off"
Perhaps they should translate that into Italian for them
I dislike palace as much as anyone but i do think the idea of 'ultras' whose soul purpose is to create a good atmosphere is a good idea, I disagree with them acting as a 'firm' but you cannot knock the atmosphere they created at the valley, following the lead of the HF
Having seen Inter, AC Milan, Sampdoria and Torino ultras first hand, these chaps don't really pass muster. However, they could give Albinoleffe (four herberts who wouldn't give the ball back when it went in the crowd) a run for their money.....
It would be good if our fans tried to improve the atmosphere, just singing at a proper tempo will probably be enough and more songs. Palace have gone too far and have embarrassed sections of the fans.
Having read that, other than cringeing and thinking can't he find a students union to organise?, it's clear that Charlton, Chelsea and Millwall are the real enemy. Why else would you put in some bitchy little jibes about them? A prat of the highest order.
I keep hearing about this "great atmosphere" at The Valley, but lets not forget that an away crowd of 100 creates a good atmosphere in that stand. Also it was great if you was sitting near them in the east or west stands. In the upper north, we couldn't hear a thing. All I could think when those flairs were going off was how bloody stupid they looked and how it made them look so pathetic trying too look like big, hard and scary!
I don't like the idea of what the Ultras suggests, I hate Palace, but they are making a better atmosphere. I suspect that are also lifting their players with the vocal support they give. Let's remember that footballers are not Accountants or Barristers, they probably appreciate the extra support and might even raise their game accordingly.
We seem to have endless threads on here discussing our away support and the lack of noise generated by the home fans at The Valley. Sure we can all complain about the acoustics of the North Stand, but the truth is that this movement, despite it's actual intentions, has created an atmosphere at Selhurst Park, and at other grounds, that I would love us to be equally compared to.
It's easy to slag them off and call them names from the comfort of our nice quiet sections of the East and West stands, but I applaud what they have done, despite wanting the club to go bust and disappear forever.
One last note, and this might be a mere coincidence, but on Saturday Palace had a promotion, got over 20,000 fans into that s**thole and came back from 2-0 down to win 4-3 in what must have been a cracking game. I'm not saying the fans made all the difference but, even if we all hate Palace as much as I do, we can't expect them to do anything short of telling everyone they know (and completer strangers in the street) all about their day. I know that's what I'd be doing if we'd pulled off that kind of result in front of a massive crowd (20k is massive for them).
Some here are making that recreating the atmosphere at Italian football matches would be a good thing - if they look at the attendance statistics here http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/attendance/_/league/ita.1/italian-serie-a?cc=5739 they will see that many Italians increasingly disagree with them - the average attendance at Lazio is now down to 28,000. If you want a feel for life among the ultras then read Tim Parks book a Season in Verona.
Agree. I was the East Stand, Block F and heard them loud & clear. We were outsung & outplayed. Black jackets aside, I thought they did their club proud that night.

Crystal Palarse's 'ultra's':
Says it all really.
Any "casual" who claims to be involved with that, is NOT a "casual"
