  • Shit team selection from manager has lost that game. Obvious to everyone that Fuller and Kerkar should be starting except from CP. What is he playing at???

It appears he is a bit out of his depth, and far too negative in his tactics, why test that brilliant 4-3-3 in pre season then play a dated defense minded 4-4-2 diamond,he needs to wake up on Saturday and pick a team that can win a game not just try not to lose.
  • On the plus side, Blackstock has just scored for Forest. Come on Forest

Surely the starting 11 for Saturday have picked themselves?

    You'd like to think so.
  • team for sat:
    Hamer
    Solly
    Evina
    Morrison
    Cort
    Green
    Kerkar
    Stephens
    Jackson
    Kermy
    Fuller

BIG BIG game against Ipswich on saturday
  • Not good enough. still would prefer Evina at left back and Solly at right back so the defence has some balance to it. He better start Kerkar and Fuller on Saturday.
  • If the team that ended tonight don't start saturday with Evina lb, then i'll seriously start to question Powells selection.
  • Baldock the player we should of got

Agreed, hard not too after that performance

    Not for me.

Still think we need 5 across midfield for at least first half. I will be interested in how JJ played when moved inside as he never was a left winger. I think I have said enough about Kerkar so obviously would like him to start left side. Green on right. So, midfield

    Kerkar JJ Stevens Hollands Green

    Fuller up front.

Actually what I wanted for this game!

Why is everyone demanding Fuller start?

“It is a matter of building up my minutes before I can start a game.

“I don’t want to be stupid and rush in when I’m not 100 per cent fit and get myself injured - that’s the worst thing I would want.

“It is about building up my fitness and hopefully everything will be fine in the next couple of games.”
    - Ricardo Fuller, yesterday.

SCP making him say that? Or just maybe he isn't starting for a good reason.

Because when he comes on we start playing very well so if he was on at the start we might actually win.

Also he hasn't played any solid footy for about a few months so his fitness isn't going to be what it was at this moment in time.
  • What can you say? To be honest the last 20 mins is going to gloss over the rest of the game. Lets not shirk away from the fact that we utterly hopeless for 70mins. We even had neutral commentators questioning our work rate. That really worries me. We've also lost another game to an unfancied side.

Gifting two goals is a big concern as well.

Going to assume that we will make changes on Saturday, but wouldn't be at all surprised if it's only Kerkar for Hollands. Still don't think Fuller is going to be ready to start.

We desperately need someone to inject some power and presence to central midfield. Lets hope one of the 3 we have training with us at the moment will be able to give us that.
  • Had high hopes for Hollands this season.Worked his whole career to get to this level and thought he's grab it with both hands.
Not really panning out that way though.
  • chris powell is on bbc london.
  • i refuse to panic so early on.
  • Here's a classic from the BBC live text:

    90:00 +1:04
Ricardo Fuller takes a shot. Save made by Ben Hamer.
  • Having done the match thread I can only summarise as follows-:
Not in the game for first 60 minutes
Two sloppy pieces of defending give them a comfortable 2 goal cushion
Fuller and Kerkar come on and immediately change the game but goal scored was offside
We give away a soft pen 4 mins later
Then Green, Kerkar and Fuller ably backed up by Yann and Solly make a huge difference...addicks get confidence and end the game with Rams hanging on....

Conclusion.........Fuller, Kerkar have to start on Saturday and if rumours of signing Reo-Cocker are true he also has to start (if match fit).....then we will have a decent chance at this.....no time for sentiment....lets get the changes made.

    See you all Saturday.

    Cheers

Clearly neither Fuller nor CP know as much as some of the genius's on here.

45 minutes is not 70. Useless first half but the entire 2nd half was a different story according to the commentators...
  • be interesting to hear from those that were there - i (partially) listened to the coverage on Radio London - Bradley Allen says that 1st half we were v.poor & not the team he saw last year. Last 20 mins it appears it was all us, but only after Green hit one from 20+ yards and I imagine if he hadn't we would have lost by 4 or 5.

Looks like it all changed when Kerkar & Fuller came on, Hollands & BWP went off and JJ went to centre mid - Hopefully CP has now seen the light & will start with Green & Kerkar with JJ & Stephens in the middle...........undecided about dropping BWP but if Fuller is fully fit then maybe an idea to start with him & bring on Bradley to run at tired defences with 15 to go.

Bringing him on when the defenders are tired is likely to be better than having him do the hard running from the start.

Powell's strategy of using him as an impact sub while he isn't fully match fit is SOP, and isn't something to bag him for.
  • A shame we're not playing Peterborough until Nov 27th...
  • The league table starts to take shape after 10 games.

If we're still in the same position or worse I'll start to worry then.

Not having that. Yes we started the second half better, but as soon as we gave the second goal away we were on the back foot again until the subs were made.

This is the midfield we should of played, I agree.

Stick Fuller on for Yann in the second. We can at least make ourselves hard to beat!

The subs were a few minutes after the goal and the goal was an individual error. Can't really blame the whole team for that

Geniuses that can't even read, it seems...

The big plus point is Danny Green. Most people were pessimistic about him pre-season, including me, but he looked very useful against Palace, and sounds like even better tonight.

Credit those who were there, heard them loud and clear, howling like mad for a late handball shout
  • SCP on BBC London said:

    Green was class
First 65 was shocking and he was very disappointed
Last 25 was how he wants us to start and play near that level for the whole 90
He wants us to play with a nothing to lose mentality like when we were 3-0 down
Kerkar and Fuller made a very good impact and he's considering starting them at Ipswich
We were unlucky not to get a point in the end after our late surge and having to cleared off the line
We will take the positives to Ipswich

The Messiah has spoken (SCP that is, not me).

    chris powell -
"our seasons got to be built on from that last 25mins."

"fuller is getting stronger every day"

"green does that kinda shot in training all the time"

"dont worry, we'll still win the league"

*last one might of been made up.
  • Gutted because we got back into it and nearly nicked a point but angry that we didn't go with changes from the start.

This team has been crying out for width!!! Why could we all see it but CP didn't. JJ isn't a winger.

Solly should be kept at RB. Obviously didn't go to tonight but still stand by my comments about Wilson as a full back. Sounds like Morrison had a stinker.

JJ is still a talented asset when he's played central!!

For me, SCP left himself open for obvious criticism before a ball was kicked tonight. Almost an element of stubbornness.

Hopefully lessons learnt before its too late.

    Still need a CM.
