Nothing new really, we always get cheated and have done for years.

Anyone got a link to the "offside" goal?

  • Grrr. How do I transfer the JPEG into this sodding post? My buddy in Oslo snapped it from the Norwegian TV coverage, they were just as clear as Sky that BWP was onside
  • Spankie

You're a ref, aren't you? Good to see a ref who sees the merit of "video support", as I'd call it.
  • pragueaddick, you need to upload it to an image hosting site such as imgur.com and then click on the icon that looks like a landscape picture above this comment box next to the hyperlink icon and code icon, then between the "" you copy and paste the url of the picture from the hosting site.
  • So that's 2 goals in 2 games that should have been given and 5 pts we've potentially lost because of them. Could make all the difference come May.

Not really good enough. The rule nowadays supposedly is to favour the attacker. Ignoring the man on the deck, Wright-Phillips was level with the last man at worst. The ball was in the net and play stopped. A brief TV review of the incident would have given us the goal. It would have taken 2 minutes. The fact that we didn't 'deserve' to win is irrelevant. Goals win games and not ying n yang fairness (even cheech & chong)

Wooah, I agree, we weren't brilliant, but there were quite a few decent chances from 70mins on, when Fuller came on and the ball began to stick up front a bit more. We should have at least led the game for a bit; whether they would still have equalised, or went on to score a couple... who knows.

Okay... more than 4 chances and to be fair only three of them were what you might call 'good chances'. BWP's 'goal', Fuller had a header wide and Hamer's header/shoulder were the only clear attempts + Fuller had a blocked shot loop onto the bar.

You've got to do more than that to expect to win games at home and you've certainly got to do more than that before you can look to blame defeat on anyone else.

I don't think we were terrible, certainly not as terrible as others seem to, but we were distinctly toothless for most of the game.

Bar hamer and solly I thought we were all poop totally

There was no urgency in the play and no desire to put it right

I misread what you said, I thought bwp looked on point I think it's too early to judge Wilson. he just looked nervous to me. Yann wasn't his usual best.

make that 30 secs (if that) - 1 look by the 4th official is all that was needed. You can also forget all that "it stops the flow of the game" b***x as the ball was in the back of the net and effectively the game had stopped.

video replays must come in - it has help improve other sports (esp cricket & rugby) - can't see was all the fuss is about

Agreed , why would you not take the opportunity to make the refs job easier and cut out poor decisions, although I believe there would have to be a line drawn or video footage would be argued for every throw on etc. Maybe limit it to two views per side per game like cricket?
  • In American Football if the coach doesn't agree with the ref he can issue a challenge. Each coach gets 3 challenges a match. The ref is made to watch the reply and base his decision (i.e offside or not) on the footage. Simple, takes 2 minutes and stops big mistakes from going unnoticed.
  • Who was the prick doing the BBC commentary claiming that BWP was "clearly offside"? Idiot.
  • why can't they award the goal after it's been reviewed and clearly that a mistake has been made, particularly when it clearly would have made a huge difference.

obviously if one team has clearly lost by a margin for it not to have made any difference, at least that way the agrieved team us,or whoever at least get a point, which could be massive come end of season?
  • That frame, I think, is actually a few too early. I've seen one that is directly after the ball is played forward to Bradley. I'll see if I can find it again.

Haha yep, spend most of my Internet time on there and Charlton life

  • I remember that great Italian tit Murinho claining a "win" at Everton when it finished 2-2 as Chelski had a goal given offside when it wasn't

And several seasons on it still winds people up - which is why he made the remark.
