I think it SHOULD be sung as it is a recent bit of history between the two sides and gives the crowd a bit of atmosphere. Football songs are often about past events etc.
I couldn't care less if we do a rendition of 'I've got a brand-new combined harvester' as long as the atmosphere is good. Good/loud crowds have been rare at The Valley for the last 5 years.

I expect to be singing this song for many, many years to come and will not feel an ounce of shame in doing it.
Nobody in recent memory has had the pleasure of relegating their rivals in a head-to-head match at the end of the season, other than us. Ask a fan of any other club if they would like to have that experience, and they would bite your hand off.
We are not their rivals though. They just don't like us. But we're not rivals.
Has Fortune been invited to come out at Half Time, im sure we can find some excuse.
Knowing them they would get all offended and try to get Fortune sacked before the match had finished.
Fortune plays for Barnet & if you're serious, that is rather silly.
Yes that is what people call a joke, im referencing the famous Palarse incidence, i do despair of some of are own fans, they worry way to much about things that do not matter.

Apologies. There was no :-) signifying joke. It certainly would matter if it wasn't a joke because you would have Charlton up before the FA or FLA on a charge.

Sorry im not enough of a forum person to have learned all the forum ways of doing things but all serious why would the club get in trouble for having an ex player come out at HT?

I would say if there was any trouble, we could be up for encitement, by wheeling out an ex player at HT, whose goal was responsible for their relegation. There would be no other reason for Fortune to be wheeled out at HT.
You do of course realise that or you wouldn't have said it.
NB Brian Cole our announcer was sacked for saying Palarse over the mic & lots of apologies made.

*sigh* Christ this type of pedantic sniping is so boooooooring...
I've got a banner to give everyone the 'release' signal. Don't worry though Covered End, I've made sure to use the correct Charlton typeface and colour pantone.
I may have lost all faith in the English FA if it is true that simply bringing out Fortune would get us in trouble.
Sums up why English football is in so much trouble that i believe they would spend a good amount of time over a "serious" issue like that.
I may be totally wrong. But if there was a lot of trouble I just think it could be cited as one of the reasons.
Anyway, it's boring so let's move on.
I don't think Charlton would get in trouble for having a long time servant of the club come on the pitch at half time. If you genuinely think that this would count as inciting a riot then you need to have a little think !

Priceless
Save it for when we play Ipswich :-0
