Does Surrey council know your here?!??!?

    I like that.

    Doesn't scan. Too many syllables.
Re-draft and get back to me.
It does scan, actually, if you extend the stress on the first syllable of 'Surrey ' it works perfectly well.
    Thank you.
Perfectly well? No. You have to try too hard to make that work.
What do you suggest then elton?

Nigel in the wind? Rocket Nigel's? Can you feel the Nigel tonight? Circle of Nigel?

Or maybe just Don't let the Nigel go down on me?

I prefer "Does Surrey council know your here?" or take out the council?!?

'Saddle up and ride your Nigel'?
  • All this rubbish they come out with suggesting that we've just 'picked' Palace as a rival to try and feel a sense of importance.

I don't feel 'important' or 'big' by seeing Friday night as a derby against rivals. I just really f*****g hate Crystal Palace, like all other Charlton fans. Couldn't really give a damn whether they hate us back or not.
  • I don't get why they try and justify their reason for going? Everytime someone says they're looking forward to it or disapointed they can't go they have to point out it's not because they see us as rivals, weird!

I agree that people without a ticket should get their arse in gear asap.
But not because of that load of crap, but because it will be a quality day out.

Personally I would have loved to go to Charlton. Not because it's a rivalry (lets be fair here..its really not) but because its a local away game that would be very easy for me to get to.

I want to beat them, like I want us to win every game, but I feel as strongly as I do about Sheffield Wednesday. It all got pretty heated on that day in 2010 and therefore I had a bit more joy in my heart when we won last Saturday, but nowhere near as much as Br1-3hton.
  • I just find it laughable how they think we somehow came up with this idea that THEY were the chosen ones to be our rivals. How do you put that sort of message across 25,000-30,000 supporters. Cos it certainly didn't go up on Charlton Life and there wasn't any leaflets handed out ahead of the match in 2005.

"Right guys, we need a rival because even though we are the biggest and most followed fanbase in South East London....We just need to find someone to pick on and make people look at us"

Clearly a lot of them don't see any further past 2005.
It's as if to them we have just turned up and started picking them out.

Maybe a few of them should have a look at the years prior to when they started to support palace?

Regardless, I f*^&king hate the lot of them, I'm a proud south Londoner and I won't have any nigel brandish a banner or flag telling me they are the top dogs around here because they aren't.
There's enough history for me to dislike them, I won't justify my reasons for that to some clueless nigel forum users.
  • They think you need a rivalry, hence why they invented one in the late 70s with another club that wanted one. They're very strange.

Are they still claiming that we never take many to Selhurst despite taking 8k there in 2000?

  • They only have a rivalry with Brighton after one of their "top boys" finished runner up in mr gay UK in the 70's to one of Brighton’s queens and it all got a bit messy before spiralling out of control into full blown handbags.
  • The only time I used to drink in Charlton Village was when we played palarse.

For the older posters who remembers Clive who may have been of Pakistani origin?
  • Someone needs to break the news to them that 'Br1-3ton' is unbelievably lame and just doesn't work.

So much so he decided to write an article on it.

Might get to work on my 'Barnsley, We Don't Hate You' blog tonight.

    Proper weirdos.
  • Naturally the conversation divulged into what football teams we supported. When he found out I was a Palace fan, the first thing he said to me was ‘Oh dear, us two will be big rivals if we both get jobs here’. ‘Ah, you’re a Brighton fan are you?’ I replied. ‘No’, he said, ‘I love playing Palace, it’s always a fierce London derby isn’t it!’. ‘Oh dear, so you’re Millwall then?’ I sighed. ‘No, of course not, I’m a Charlton fan, we’re massive rivals, aren’t we’. ‘Are we?’ I asked.

Yeah, sure the conversation went like that........
  • LOL, I was just thinking the same thing.

For a club that 'doesn't care about us' there must be at least 50% of threads on their first page dedicated to us & Fridays game.

    http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=105&fid=1

More threads on there about the match than on Charlton Life ... but we are definitely not their rivals ... and they still don't care about us ... lol
  • have they sold out yet?
  • Great stuff! Biggest fish to fry, aka the MASSIVE Brighton! A club needs a rivalry, no they don't, only a pointless club with something to prove would think that. Also there haven't been any incidences of violence between the two clubs...

  • He knows what he's talking about.

He's been a fan for nearly 15 years.

  • All that time and effort put into convincing himself that he doesn't care, then lets himself down by calling us "Clowns" near the end of it.

Still, I suppose he would call Middlesbrough or Watford fans the same.
  • He's clearly made that imaginary conversation up from his job interview. More like "I support Palace", "OK, I'm a Charlton fan" (whilst giving the impression that he already absolutely despises the Nigel from across the table).
  • 30 Hours....45minutes.....

had to find this quote from se9addick from another thread...

"I dislike Piers Morgan, I care not that he has no opinion of me.

    Same argument for Palace."

i dont see palace as rivals and i dont see Piers Morgan as a rival, i just want them to both fail in every aspect of life.

    definitely
  • Go on millwall forums hardly mention us I believe that they don't see us a major rival go on a palace one and the creeps are fixated with us....unsettling
  • 18 out of 46 threads are about Charlton, thats just what I can see from the title. One of the even has the cheek to be entitled 'Charlton have an unhealthy obsession with us'.

    Absolute freaks.
  • we got 7 - but two of them are about whether the game will be shown on north american tv.
so really 5 plus the people with faces you want to punch thread. so....6.
  • What surprises me why they never bring acceptable support to the den ? I mean that's the one after Brighton

Why do they chant we only hate Brighton if they also hate millwall?
