Worked his bollocks off all of last season just like he did tonight.
The only thing that is lazy is the people who use that term when they can't see what a player does.
This!!!!
He has an ongoing knee problem which requires managing yet more often than not he plays with great pace and skill.
Last season he went through a lean patch, just like all strikers do. He was unhappy at missing chances, just like all good strikers do and as a top striker he scored crucial goals including the one that sent us up.
I really am at a loss to understand what some people have had against him. I wish that Mesi was in our team, or that Villa or Ronaldo pulled on the Addick Red. They don't but we do have a real quality striker in BWP and he is quality at this level.

No point in me adding anything as you said it perfectly.
I think you can't underestimate what he actually gave to the team tonight in a tough game that was important we could always carry a threat - it was as good as attacking display I have seen from a Charlton striker in many a year. Well done BWP.
Agree with those who say he's never been lazy. He has a slightly sulky demeanour at times and in certain games he was certainly being economical with his effort (by which I mean he concentrated on chasing balls he coul actually get to and focussed on staying in goal poaching positions) but in other games, where the game plan demanded it, he worked his socks off - e.g. Huddersfield at home last season.
I wasn't around for it but The Old Man always draws the comparison with Derek hales who apparently was another one often accused of being lazy, when he just didnlt waste energy on lost causes that could be used for goal scoring.
Anyway, pleased to hear BWP pleased even his critics tonight. A strong season from BWP = a strong season for us, imo.
Agreed, not sure where this fallacy has come from. Think it was just morons looking to pick him up for a problem that wasn't there when he was on his goal drought.
He spends all game chasing the channels and harassing defenders when they're in possession.
As long as he's scoring goals he's going to start, surely? You don't drop your top scorer if you have a brain.

I agree. I have never had a problem with his effort- just his decision making at times. I still think he has been one of our best signings and do honestly believe that he is one of the best strikers in this league. In fact I think that the tight marking could make him more instictive and therefore more effective, as he was tonight! The fact that teams identify him as a danger gives others more opportunity and space, which is why I think that so many others score goals. You have to look at the whole to see the benefit if you see what I mean.
What I would say about our side is , that we may not have the best players - but we do have the best team. A more hard working team I have never seen.
Ever.
Our support from all of our three sides of the ground was great tonight and this will also get better when the holidays are over. Together we are superb!
He ran his socks off tonight (even more than usual) and was just better at everything else:
Taken from my player marks -
BWP - 9.5 - The best I've seen him play in terms of all round performance. He tucked away his one chance and narrowly missed another. However he ran his socks off for the full time when he was on the pitch and his passing and first touch was very much improved from last season. Also I don't know if its just me but he seemed alot faster than last year as well which caused a few problems for City's defense. If he continues to play like that he'll be un-play able - MOTM
Technically our best player over the past 3 seasons by a mile. However, does drop his head. Tonight he was hungry and aggressive and overall a magnificent performance.
Last season he was brilliant and last night he looked even better. He's never been lazy he just had a bad spell last season and that knocked him a bit. Him and kermogrant look to understand each other even more now and with fuller as competition now that will only make us better . If we can have a nice unbeaten run again I think we look good for play-off spot
BWP was great last night and had the central defenders for pace all night long. If he carries on like this he will get 20 goals this season no problem. Quality always shows and Bradley has that.
I will repeat what many others have said. Transformed? Not a chance. I am sure that many of the members on here will still be convinced that Sam Baldock is a better option, for some bizarre reason though.
This confuses me as so many people (including knowledgeable ones) were saying how much better BWP was and that he was a different player. I thought he looked very sharp indeed, I thought this was one of his best games and I did think his hold up play had improved. Honed is the word that comes to mind.
Make no qualms - BWP worked just as hard in league one. But that work ethic is more suited to league one.
Apply that workrate to this division where opposition players want that extra second or two on the ball, and as last night almost showed on a few occaisions, it pays off!
I never thought he was lazy and loved him last season, but last night he looked a class above. Some had been questioning whether he would cut it in the Championship but I think he answered those questions last night.
However I don't think the OP meant transformed in a derogatory way - as one of his biggest fans last year I still thought he looked a much better player last night - after the ES article last week and hearing what he thinks then I think it's pretty clear he views this as a season where he has something to prove. Last night he definitely proved it! Quality, my MOM.
HE has never been lazy so i don't know where everyone is getting that idea from, but from the first two games i can diffidently tell he has worked on his pace, he has gained a yard of pace this year without a doubt.
It's always wound me up, usually at away games where you're not amongst your usual group, the abuse that Brad gets. The amount of work he puts in, chasing, harrying, just being there is awesome.
Thought he did that again last night perfectly. Still not sure what was wrong with his tackle on De Laet either. Keep it up Brad

Great finish but some really poor first touches

And for me, it's as simple as that.

P.S. In SCP we trust!

Or maybe not?
BWP hasn't ever been lazy but his performance last night was better and much different from what we're used to seeing.
Don't see the need to call someone stupid for just stating a positive observation about one of our players.
And I didn't call anyone stupid, I said that what someone said was stupid. The poster himself edited it so it seems he agrees.
It might help playing Leicester in a proper league in front of a passionate crowd instead of playing Rochdale in front of 10,000 in a pub league...
