  • Hamer 6 - comedy moment almost cost us a goal near the start
Evina 5.5 - no where near Wiggy
    Taylor 6 - steady
Cort 6 - heads a lot, looked like he did his Hamstring near the end.
Green 5 - gave the ball away and shot wide all game
Wagstaff 6 - tried hard as usual, bit fortunate with goal but had to be there.
Cook 7 - bit one paced but neat and a bit of skill, looks good for a freebee
Hollands 7 - not fit but the class act on display
Wilson 5.5 - He is not Solly (and I think that reflects some of his scores above). Steady but not inspiring.
Kerkar 5.5 - some good balls, some bad. light weight. Could be a decent player off the bench this season.
Smith 5 - has potential but no where near Champinship level yet. Loan to League 2 most likley, League 1 if lucky.

Pritchard n/a (on for less than 30 minutes)
    Jackson n/a

  • Hamer - 7.5 Apart from the daft kick straight to Mooney he was very positive with his handling and punching.
Evina - 6 Can't head but is decent back up for Wiggins.
Taylor - 7.5 Won his headers and got in his blocks.
Cort - 8 Excellent in the air and a threat from set pieces.
Green - 6.5 Had a few decent shots and hit the post twice with a couple of flukey/cheeky efforts. Will he cut it in the league? Not sure.
Wagstaff - 6.5 Tried hard and took the shot for his goal well.
Cook - 7.5 We weren't able to get him on the ball enough but this lad has got ability. Mazy runs and brilliant crosses. Keromgant & BWP will love him.
Hollands - 7 Not a lot of finesse but so essential in the midfield scrap.
Wilson - 6 Looked nervous, was unlucky with the penalty award (very harsh). Got better and will be decent back up for Solly or RHS of midfield.
Kerkar - 7 VERY left footed but has skill. Not sure whether he's a centre-mid but he wasn't bad at all. Very good free-kick late on.
Smith - 6.5 Very promising performance. Was still chasing hard in extra time. Good target man, decent ball control and vision.

Hamer - 8.5 He looked good , liked the way he psyched out Mooney before the Pen.
Evina - 6 Played ok ,but we missed Wiggins badly .He maybe needs a loan spell at somewhere like Orient in L1.
Taylor - 6 Average ,but didn't do anything wrong
Cort - 7 Has got better ,I noticed him clutching his hamstring at the end of the game .I was surprised he played the whole 120 minutes because he will play on Saturday I hope.
Green - 6 Seems to be a marmite player you either love him or hate him . I felt he had his moments.
Wagstaff - 7 Extra point for the goal and the fact he keeps going .Hopefully he can make the step up to the CCC.
Cook - 7 I like the look of him
Hollands - 7 Played well ,I like Hollands and suspect he was chosen because he did not start pre season so needed some more game time.
Wilson - 6 Not his best game ,hope he improves
Kerkar - 7 Another one who divides opinion ,I liked him and his natural left footed ability will give us another outlet .Excellant free kick but he did tire in extra time which was understandable .Also not sure that he is a cm.
Smith - 6 .Like the look of him and another one who will improve with more games.

  • Hamer 6.5 - Great save to keep us in it in normal time
Evina 6.5 - Lively going forward especially 2nd half,
Taylor 6 - Solid - another dodgey moment with Hamer, they need to go for a beer and get to know each other ;-)
Cort 6.5 - won every header even when struggling with cramp in ET, think he missed Morro
Green 5 - As frustrating as ever
Wagstaff 6 - extra 0.5 for the goal, just where is his best position?
Cook 7 - very promising debut
Hollands - 6.5 Dependable as ever, getting back to fitness
    Wilson - 3 - shocker
Kerkar - 7 - disappeared for 10 minutes in 2nd half but enough flashes to convince me he could be a very good signing. MOM
Smith - 7 - Impressive for a young raw 19 y/old, worked hard and decent first touch for a big lad

Was I watching the same game? Kerkar looks way out of his depth! I would rate him -1 if I could. He lost the ball constantly and ran around like a headless chicken. He didn't win one header and went to the floor everyone someone came near him. His first touch sent the ball straight up on two occasions that I can remember. The only bright player from that whole team apart from when the subs were made was cook. Every time he got the ball he made something happen. He will be a first team player soon enough. :)

The answer to your question is no.

Never ceases to amaze the different scores.

  • Never ceases to amaze the different scores.

I think we all look at our own favorite positions, which tend to be where we used to play.

I played left wing/mid field and find myself watching the movement off the ball and how the opposition are trying to gain the upperhand by attacking our perceived weaknesses and how we respond. At a corner I am looking at who is coming around the blind side, who is defending the runner and the semi circle etc, I am obviously looking elsewhere when some things happen.

My best mate was a forward and saw the whole point of everyone else playing in the team was to get the ball to him so he could score. His view of our defenders and our forwards is often different to mine and we do "see" things from a differant perspective. We also like the views from differant areas of the ground. He as near to a goal as poss. I prefer high up in the middle.

Years and years ago when we played, he could not pass a ball further than 10 yards and thought the job of midfield/winger was to get the ball up front as quick as poss. I could pass from one side of the pitch to the other to a running player and tried to be a winger and beat their man and bring the ball in from the deadline (wasting time getting it in)

He hates Spain for their "tippy tappy" football. I could watch it all day long.

This is what makes football such a great game and why we do indeed see things so differantly - and why we miss so much of what the ref sees.

I would add that my mate is of course always wrong as the brains always plays midfield.

    Evina - 7 Steady
    Taylor - 7 Steady
    Cort - 7 Steady
Green - 6 Poor crosses into box.
Wagstaff - 6 point taken off. Moaning at the ref because was tackled fairly. Will he ever stop the amateur dramatics?
Cook - 8 Nice touches, great assist for Waggys goal.
    Hollands - 7 Steady
Wilson - 5 Struggled to play simple balls to team mates.
Kerkar - 6 Faded 2nd half looked lively in 1st.
Smith - 6 Showed glimpses of talent for a young footballer.

Same as CE please LL...... but then again I was sitting near him.
Green frustrating but saw a lot if the ball and got himself involved but looked a bit down and dis-interested on occasions when things weren't working out. Waggy scored but did little else, can't see him playing up front much again. Thought Wilson looked like Dailly and played like Doherty.

Evina 6 probably our best player on the night.
    Taylor 6
    Cort 5
Green 5 most corners poor and did not track back enough to help out Wilson.
    Wagstaff 6
    Cook 6
    Hollands
Wilson 4 seemed to get most decisions wrong, caught out of place a lot.
Kerkar 4 did not look comfortable with the ball
Smith 5 Not his best display

Interesting comment about Smith considering that was his first ever start for Charlton - how often have you seen him play?
  • This thread is now closed for marks, stats will appear shortly, with luck :)
  • What a waste of time , there's only a hand full of marks that are fair . The rest of you havnt got a scooby do.
